UNDERSTANDING
Greetings in Jesus Christ:
"Many people are bothered by the scriptures they don't understand; I am most bothered by the ones that I do understand" Mark Twain. I think that sums up quite a lot of people...I know that for a long time in my life I found myself there. It is easier to ignore those things that we allow ourselves to get confused over. Actually we can be confused by most scripture if we use too much of our own intellect to understand it. The most simple explanations are the best. Jesus tells us that the Gospel is so simple even a small child can understand it. That alone tells me that we are simply over complicating what God is trying to say to us.
God tells us to worship Him Spirit and in truth otherwise we worship Him in vain. All of our doctrines and creeds to keep our man made and man written covenants to serve God do nothing to really bring us closer to an understanding of His love and forgiveness. We need to simply experience that love and forgiveness for ourselves, and then share it with another person. It needs to be a very simple account that is based on a first hand experience that you have had with God, and in that moment you will have shared what the word of God is all about. In Mark 7:5-13 Jesus speaks to the Scribes and Pharisees about the the vanity of worship that is not based in that simple truth. There are a great many people who have allowed their own concepts of doctrines and creeds to get in the way of their growth in Christ. We need to realize that our views and our beliefs change as we learn more about God's word...that is a part of really understanding God's word for our lives. It is the experience that we personally have with God's love and word in our life that changes us into new creatures that fit into the Kingdom of Heaven.
I want for all of you to know that each of us have the same gift of testimony to what God has done for our lives. It is not about our life but about God's involvement with that life that matters. We give God all praise and glory for what He has done in and through us, and that is our rightful service to Him...it is our duty on a daily basis for what He has given us; which is His plan of Salvation. That plan has to be worked out on a daily basis through our commitment to Christ. It is our loyalty and commitment to what we say we believe from Christ Jesus that brings us ever closer to God. God knows those who really mean what they say and do concerning their love for Him. It isn't really that hard to figure out. It is my prayer that you will simplify your relationship with God to that of simply believing Him just as a child believes their parent. I will be praying for you, and I ask that you continue to lift me up to the Lord for healing and strength to minister in Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
