ASK YOURSELF TWO QUESTIONS

When everything is said and done...when all of the dust settles we need to have a very clear understanding of two things.  1.  We need to know what God expects of us.  2. We need to be honest with ourselves and one another about what we expect from ourselves.

That really should not be that difficult for us to figure out and yet we spend so much time playing around with the possibilities that we never really do anything about achieving any of those goals in life.  Like Paul told those in Corinth when he wrote " in a time when we should be teachers of the word we find that we are still in need of being fed the milk of the word".  Unfortunately that is very true of most Christians who have never challenged themselves to take a chance  in letting the Spirit of Christ within them to step out and do something that He has called them to do.  No matter if we succeed or fail we need to at least allow God to push us far enough to make the effort.  From any beginnings there is a tremendous potential when God's Spirit is involved.  In making an effort we learn what God really does want to open us up to even though it may not be clear to us at first.

I would have loved nothing more than to have been a part of a complete church filled with people who have been just as driven to see God's authority displayed to all other churches as I have been. What I have found was that God has been calling me to the task of doing what ever it takes and what ever I can at any given moment to awaken the Bride of Christ; or (i should ) to awaken those people who really want to see the true church at work in them.  I found that I could not wait for anyone else to join my band wagon because they first of all had to be convinced that I believed what I was saying.  People must feel that they will not be left out on a limb if they dare to commit to an idea or a calling of any kind.

When ever we deal with God in our life we first have to understand the cost to us in what He expects from us is nothing less than our complete life.  We have to count the cost to us of what God is asking us to do, and only if our heart strings are still being pulled to take action should we get with someone else who believes as we do, and try to build that ministry within the church.  I don't think for the most part that God ever calls us alone to a work that is so critical to the needs of the church.  We need to find a way to fit what we are being called to into that which the church is already called to, or perhaps even a part of a ministry that is already underway rather than striking out on our own and perhaps duplicating something that someone else is already done or trying to do.  I don't know how many people have said to me " we need a women's group in church that shows strength and purpose", but no one ever tries to do something past talking.  There are no certain people that God needs to use to deal with that sort of thing, and yet it is so desperately needed.  That is only one of many areas within the church that we can work on...there are many ministries that we have had that need help...and not just one or two people...but real help in establishing.  I pray that we will begin to look more closely at this sort of thing. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
