GOD HAS NO RELIGION
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Relationships are probably the hardest thing that any of us have ever done. We think of them basically as an obligation to another person, and we approach them very religiously as we try to find out what that person likes, and then stick to a framework of life around them that suite both us and them when we are around them. That only works as long as we believe the same things. The sad thing is that unless our hearts are together in a pattern of change that life will almost always bring we will have a tendency to drift apart unless we are careful. If we have never been completely honest in the first place about the intent of our hearts I don't believe we have a chance of even making things work.
My point here is that we cannot rely on a code of rules and ethics to govern our dealings with others, and especially not our relationship with God. Like it or not we change over time...that is called personal growth, and it is an adjustment we make within us that reflects our experiences both good and bad in this life. As much as we have been taught this in our churches God does not operate by a set of rules that cannot be broken or there is no relationship. God operates with guidelines that allow us to make mistakes and yet continue to grow. It took me a long time to learn that because most churches have put a stamp of creeds and doctrines in place that we feel we can never break or bad things will happen.
God has placed in my heart to let you know that what He is looking for is an honest relationship that will grow and change over time. He is looking for truth in your heart about life as you have experienced it, and that does not always mean it is good or positive.
There are time when we feel pain that we think we cannot come to God or speak our mind in anger or frustration before Him because He may not understand...when all along it is that kind of openness that He is looking for from us. I have heard from some that they feel God more in the open setting of nature than they do in a church body, and that might be because they feel less judged, and more loved by God. We have to be more open with one another and with God to build any kind of relationship. While God has no religious affiliations most of the time we do, and if God does not fit in our brand of religion we either limit or cut off any meaningful change that He may want to make in our live; that includes personal growth or even His purpose for our life.
Today is a new chance for us to turn things around simply by being yourself around God. When I think about all that we can be to God , and He to us I get excited to see what the future holds if we would just open up with our hearts to the healing and the love of Christ. It is that same way with relationships we have with everyone in this life...honesty, truthfulness, loyalty, and love are not always a part of a religion, but they are a part of every relationship. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
