IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENT TO SEE SIN

Greetings in Jesus:

It only takes a few moments before we can begin to see sin at it's deceitful best in this world.  It is easy for us to look around us from a distance to see it at work, but then we begin to see how it effects us as we get closer in relationships around us, and then even within our own homes, and thoughts.

That sinfulness is pointed out for us in Romans 1:1-7 by Paul as he makes a general statement about the sinfulness of mankind.  In that letter to the Christians in Rome he wanted to make a statement about why he wanted so much to be there with them by saying " I thank my God through Jesus Christ" to emphasize that Christ was the only one who could be a mediator between God and human beings.  What that literally means is that we have no chance to reach out to God on our own without first going through Jesus.

At some point in our lives and relationship with Jesus we may feel pretty comfortable in coming to God in prayer.  We may even find that it becomes easy to refer to God as Father, and yet without Christ taking over the very center of our being we would never be able to relate or speak to the God of creation.  Our own righteousness becomes as filthy rags in the sight of God without the purifying of Jesus Blood.

I don't know about you , but that thought tends to humble me dramatically as I think of all of the times that I have causally thrown prayers at God; feeling that I somehow deserve for Him to not only listen to them, but to answer them in my own time tables.

This also makes me realize how much more time we really need in meditating on what God has spoken to us through Christ Jesus.  When Jesus told us "You are the light of the world" He was not talking about His own light shining through us and reflecting back to the world.  This world cannot see God's light shinning directly at them in the ways we can...they cannot see God's light at all  until it reflect back at them through us...and that is  a very limited view of God.  Perhaps you don't feel as though your can shine today, but I know that you can reflect back the light that Christ shines through you to others!  For some of us the only thing that we have done is to be present....someone told me the next step is to see a need and to fill it...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
