WHEN DO YOU GET UNCOMFORTABLE WITH CHRIST?

I have found that most people are the most uncomfortable with Christ when they are asked to say anything about Him.  I have noticed that for those who begin to try to find things in the word of God there becomes a sense of need to know where it is in scripture...first for themselves and then to use in study or as a tool to speak with someone else.  Almost always it gets to be uncomfortable at times when we cannot find our place in God's word, but thank God we have one another to help us find our way.

It is time that we spent more time in conversation with one another about our experiences in Christ...both with the victories and the defeats of our lives.  Within that conversation we will find friendship, love , and counsel for every situation.  The early church used to get together and share these kinds of things in their services so that the church as a whole can grow and become edified in the Spirit of God.  Today it is hard to find those who can readily testify to Christ in their lives because we have simply stopped asking for those who would do it.  The truth is that we need much more of that sort of thing within our church groups today.  We need to hear others like ourselves lift up Christ for what He has done for us in a week, or on a special occasion.

People tend to get uncomfortable if they feel they are unprepared to speak out.  What they need to understand is that no one can tell their story as well as they can.  In order for us to tell our story for the most part there does not need to be any scripture memorized or any quotes made or speeches prepared.  You know your feeling and what made you come to a place where you could believe that God is real. If you want to be real honest to you know that there have been times when you had to struggle with that faith...times when you have not done well, but you also know that God has been faithful to you.  Most of us do not have any kind of miraclous testimony or real inspiring thoughts for someone to take away...all we really have is the truth about us, and when someone hears about us it may inspire them to tell about themselves as well.  That's where it all starts; and that is where Christ is shared the best.  We all have those sweaty palm moments when we think we cannot do something but loving one another and sharing in what we believe in with one another should not be one of them.  It is my prayer that we will be able to come together and share our love for God openly and without reservation.  It is that which this world will see the most...our love for Christ and one another. Keep us in prayer as we continue with the study groups on Thursday's at 6:30 p.m.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
