REALIZING WHAT IS BEFORE US
There are no written instructions on the worship of God except that we worship Him in Spirit and truth. It has bothered me for a long time now that don't seem to be able to feel the power and presence of God during our worship times. I can't help but to feel it is because we are excluding God's Spirit from our worship.
Each time I prepare my heart for worship on a Sunday morning I already feel God's presence with me before hand, and that tells me that we need to bring God's Spirit with us into each time of worship instead of treating Him like an individual who may or may not show up on their own. The Spirit of God lives within us...or He should at all times to not only guide our lives and teach us right from wrong, but to aid us in the worship of the Father as well. Today there is a tremendous amount of focus upon self instead of upon God within our churches. I said last Sunday morning that we need to get rid of self so that God can operate fully within us, and I believe the freedom that we want to see in others to worship may be seen when we become less controlling of what God wants to see come out of us in our worship of the Father. I do not know what that looks like in my heart as yet, but I do know that it brings with it much more of the spiritual gifts from among the people who are gathered than what we have been seeing.
We are seeing a real change in the social and political fields in this country...it feels like the the inmates are taking over the prison, but there are also signs being given for the church to change as well. We need to have a live kind of worship, and not a wrought and stationary memorization of facts and creeds that we dogmatically life by. It is time for some fresh air in our relationships with God. I want to begin to delve into our relationship with God more this week and throughout the rest of this year because it will effect how we approach our worship and how we approach our relationship with one another.
It is time to paint a deeper picture of who God is when living within us. We talk a good talk about God ; we sing praises about Him and we may talk at Him from time to time, but what about the kind of deep personal relationship that God has called for for such a long time in our lives? It is that kind of thing; I am convinced , that will change the way we feel God when we worship Him no matter where we may be when we do. The real point of our service and our kinship with God's Spirit within us is to change from that mortal creature that we are and into that which can inherit the Kingdom of the Father. Join with me this week as we look into it...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
