CHANGING THINGS
Greetings in Jesus:
The most difficult thing that I know of in life is centered around change for people. No matter what that change is there is always trauma involved in it. Even though change never stops within us...it is kind of like an automatic process in a way; we either learn to embrace it or ignore it, but still never stops.
With that in mind it is time for us to look at the effects of change on us over any given period of time. In many ways change can be like an adventure that is never ending because each day we rise there is a new challenge of some kind in front of us. If you look at those challenges as negative you may seek ways to hide away in your yesterdays...hoping that the things presented are like vacuum cleaner salesmen at your front door who eventually will simply go away. God's purpose and influence upon us as men and women is to present things to us that purposefully change us...it is God's way of waking us up out of our slumber so that we can really live our lives to the maximum. Change becomes what living is all about, and that change for God means growth. God is all about growth in His relationship with us. It means a deepening of our love and commitment to Him and from Him in this life.
Change marks many different kinds of things to us; it may be the ways that we think and feel to the ways we act toward people and circumstances. The important thing about change is that we seek for it to make our lives better in every way. When God's Spirit is working on perfecting us it means that He is drawing us closer to Himself, and that can be difficult when we just want to stay the same....I know because I went through that stage of my relationship with God for many years before I finally gave up. God when He has a purpose for us will never stop drawing us closer to that purpose. It will be a relentless kind of pressure on our lives until we accept it or die to fighting. Either way God wins the day. For us to be able to instill changes within us that God wants for us we must experience God within us. That means that we need to seek those changes from God by prayer and reading His word for our lives. It really isn't that hard to begin...just take a simple passage of scripture and let God talk to you about it. After that take some time to communicate with the Father by meditation on what He is trying to say to you...it may take some time for you to begin to hear Him speak; particularly if you have not been praying or meditating long in your life. The point is to allow yourself time to to listen and develop a heart that can hear God speak to you. Change is always frightening except when you have someone beside you whom you can trust and rely upon ...that is God's Spirit who dwells in you. Don't be afraid just believe and He will do the rest...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
