CRAWLING OUT OF GOD'S HAND

The process of being set aside by God's Spirit is not always smooth or quick in life.  No matter what someone says about instant salvation it usually takes time for someone to really be convinced that God is who He says He is to them.  Of course there are last minute cases where people cry out to God, and I will bet when they do they also realize that God is very real!  What I am talking about are those who have the time to think thing through, but who decide that they want to play games and not really commit their lives to God.  These are the people who have the chance for a relationship of Christ but they don't want to put any effort into it.  These are the people who can very easily be lead around by the philosophies that this world comes up with to easy their conscious about sin or the need for any real change within them.

We cannot be plucked out of God's hand when we are committed to Him, but we can easily crawl back out of God's hand when we begin to listen to the various concepts of this world that use deceit to make us feel more comfortable...more in control, and in general safe within our own skins.  Who we are and what we are always starts with us, and that is true of our relationship with God as well.  Our commitment starts with our desire to know God personally.  Our commitment is to seek after God from our heart and mind, and then to allow God the freedom to do within us whatever it takes to make changes in our lives.

Because of our free will God does not force us to change, but He does give us opportunity to change, and each time we take that step out to allow ourselves to experience that change in Christ we are never the same again.  Ephesians 5:1-2 " Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly beloved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God"  The bottom line in all of this is for us to be as as much as sacrifice for God on a daily basis as Christ was .  Ours is a spiritual sacrifice which undoubtedly will also effect our physical life here; but it will also change our attitudes and our outlook on what is important to us.  We don't have to do it all by ourselves, but we do have to deal with our willingness to allow Christ to change is into new creatures  "Who are Holy acceptable unto God."  The question still remains in my heart today where are you when it comes to your will to serve God?  Are you safely tucked into His grasp or are you sitting on the edge of His hand ready to jump at any time?  Pray about that before you take a leap...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
