FINDING TRUTH
The Gospel message is simple and it is straight forward. It puts Jesus Christ in control of our lives, and it rejects all of the claims of the world against belief in God as being the Father and the Lord of all creation.
The truth is never something that can be compromised because the truth never changes. It is , however, often hidden within the secret agendas of men. It is often twisted and tortured to be seen as something it is not. One thing that I have always found it that truth never goes away, and cannot be beaten down to dust even though its true effects can be delayed...like cream always rising to the top of fresh milk truth will come out eventually.
In the world around us that is the case as well. Today we are finding out the truth about many of the things that have happened in our history that were denied or covered up by our government at the time. 50 or so years later or so we begin to hear that a new truth is coming out about something which was always in question. As people who are supposed to loved the truth we have allowed ourselves to be lied to so much that it has become a joke among us. I have to admit that I have become a real synic when it comes to trusting what others say, and in particular someone that I do not know. The facts are clear in our world today that most of those who would convince us of something have an agenda that has personal gain attached to it, and that alone makes me look at what is truth from lie. I don't believe that any man or woman today is completely truthful because if they were they would never convince another person to follow them. The only message I have found that is truthful is that which has nothing to gain from being so.
I have found that kind of truth in the Gospel of Christ who has given an offer to us to life with God. That message has never changed and it is not contengent on jumping through hoops to receive. What it does have is a clear directive to maintain which is based upon a relationship that we begin and develop. You see real truth draws us closer moment by moment in experience so that we know it when ever we see it...truth exposes all of its parts to us so that we can make a clear decision based on fact. I believe we need more straight forward truth in our lives which sheds light on what we need to see before deciding something that effects us. We are entering into a time when we should be really looking for the truth above all else...frankly I no longer know if it will do any good to be able to make decisions based on truth the way this world is going, but one thing I do know...the truth of God's word will always remain the same, and if we seek truth based upon real and proven experiences we have had with God we will not easily be fooled. I pray that we search for that kind of truth in one another and in the decisions we make about our country as well. It is time to wake up church! May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
