WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE TO YOU?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
After a while the questions we need to ask about our relationship become more pointed to what it is that stands between us and a very close relationship with God, and unfortunately that means getting up in our own face about what we are doing that we know in our hearts is not pleasing to God.
No one ever wants to admit their imperfections or their weaknesses to anyone else because some how in our minds we don't want to give another person any control over who we really are. What we don't want to think about is the fact that God already knows what is rolling around inside of us; what is hiding in the deepest and darkest parts of us. It does not matter if we admit it or not the truth always remains the same. God is simply waiting for you to come to the point with Him where you can be as honest with Him as He has been with you. It is that which speaks to your basic character as a person; it speaks to your trustworthiness in all of the things that you say and do, especially those things that you say and do the pertain to your relationship with God. The truth is that we can conceal and lie to those around us about what is really in our heart because they cannot know what is in our heart like God does.
The fact that God so patiently waits for you to confess and deal with that inner man is not for His benefit, but it is for our benefit. Until we do that we can never feel completely honest before Him, and our requests; even though we may know are in His will for our lives are somehow tainted with some form of doubt on our part as to if God is even listening until things get cleared up. I know about a persons character being flawed because it one point I too had that problem and I didn't even understand why until I really started to dig within my family background and uncovered the sins that had hidden there for so long in generations of my family. I had to pay a personal and very dear price to untangle my life from all of that simply to free my children from the same ongoing connection so that they might have the chance to have a complete relationship with God. I have found that the healing has to start somewhere with someone in the family wanting God more than they want this life. When that happens it is possible to change a man's character and intent of heart.
For me the journey just continued to grow deeper from that point of real crisis when I had to kill the old man and then die to this life. Christ resurrected me into a new life, but it was never on my own terms in the ways we think of it today. Instead my resurrection into Christ was His life within me in a real and true way where I no longer even wanted control of what my life would be. Even the process of that transformation has taken over 20 some years now. When I started to deal with it truly I thought I had been a Christian for many years, and I had tried to do what I could to maintain following my own thoughts and purposes in Christ, but I had never really given over my life to Him.
It is all for nothing to so many who claim Christ as Lord unless they actually allow Him to be Lord over them. There are so many who are making a claim to be a part of the faith, and yet they are holding that part of themselves back from God that would allow God to trust in their hearts completely. I ask you today " What is really the most important things in life to you?" If it is not God then you are missing the point of salvation.
May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
