WITH THE KNOWLEDGE WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Our lives are simply filled with traditions which when really looked closely at have no real power to save or even given us answers to the real hard questions that we face; yet we continue to hold on to them; but why?
The cycles of this life are continuously changing. In fact, we continue to change in various ways from day to day without realizing any difference within us. There is a great influx of information that is thrown at is every day and from all directions, and more people had just enough of that information to become dangerous to others and themselves but without any guidance or wisdom in the use of that information. Some are even gifted in their ability have an elementary use of that knowledge, but without any real training or foundation in understanding, it's purpose or reason. When this happens there is a gap that we are altogether happy to try to fill because we then feel we have created something new; when all along we simply have uncovered something already there and already created for us. Hebrews 6: 1-15 speaks to those who have at one time been given such gifts to understand how this knowledge works on a spiritual level and yet who have chosen to try to develop a following of men who follow after them instead of after the base principals of Christ.
The reason this fits into the subject I refer to is the fact that in both cases; the physical knowledge or the spiritual gift given to be able to use knowledge for good; if we leave God out of the equations we will find it impossible to find our way, and we will fail because of it. Of course, the main concern here is not that we understand knowledge as much as we understand the one who has created the knowledge that we use. You have seen me write in the past about the need for us to simply believe that God is indeed who He says He is to us because that becomes the greatest force of all knowledge that we can have. Interestingly enough in verse 7 of this passage it mentions " For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God" It is a roundabout way of saying that even though we claim ownership of a new discovery we may find we will always find that God created it for us first, and the best we can claim is understanding how to use what has already been given to us. In itself that does not make us so smart.or so great in our abilities. In the end, there isn't anything that is new in this creation that we have made as men, and in many ways that knowledge tends to deflate our egos somewhat. We are simply a small part of the whole of what God has already made, and is simply waiting for us to discover and use properly. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
