THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GODLY LIFE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

After the dust settles in our life from all of the battles that are waged as we struggle to subdue the natural tendencies to want self in charge rather than God there are areas and steps that need to be dealt with to keep us on the right course in our living for God.

I am going to be using words today that are not really heard much in today's churches, but which are very important to our growth and understanding of the Good News that Jesus was given to share with us.  Some of these terms are used throughout the book of Romans, and they need for us to take the time to understand what they mean for our lives. I want to take a close look at such words as:
ELECTION  Romans 9:10-13
JUSTIFICATION Romans 4: 25; 5:18
PROPITIATION Romans 3:25
REDEMPTION  Romans 3:24 ; 8:23
SANCTIFICATION Romans 5:2 ; 15:16
GLORIFICATION Romans 8:18, 19, 30

I want to start with Election as a definition because it means God's choice of an individual or group for a specific purpose or destiny.  We must understand that it was God who called us first to become witnesses to this world of His love for all of us. It was God who first loved us even when we were so unworthy of being loved.  It was God who made a way for us to even be justified at all through His forgiveness and by saying "You are not guilty" for our sins.  It is this idea of God making a way for us to find our way back to a relationship with Him through our acceptance of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, and that is called Propitiation. It means that the wages of sin; which is death has been paid by Jesus Christ's sacrifice.  That paid the price of our sin debt as mankind which was the sin of Adam and Eve, but not the sin debt that each one of us has through the nature of our flesh.

It is only through our acceptance of that sacrifice that we can even seek after God for our Redemption.  We cannot even begin to build upon our Christian life until these first four areas are dealt with.  Sanctification is being set aside for a special purpose by Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, and that process is a lifetime deal that will lead to the ultimate state of every believer after death to this world.  It is the final transformation when we will become like Christ.
1 John 3:2 "  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known, but we know that when He appears we will be like Him for we shall see Him as He is."

We have only just begun our journey; we have only started to run our race of endurance with one another.  Now is the time to help others when we can to stay on track and stay on their feet for the full course of the race for we are not pitted against one another as in a normal contest, but we run for the prize that we all are able to share; which is the crowning glory of life with the Father God.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
