WE CANNOT KNOW THE TIME
On many occasions, Jesus spent His time trying to prepare us for what would be coming because along with the love that He has obviously shared with us there is a coming judgment of mankind that will come from the deepest parts of a justified God's heart upon our rejection of this love gift that has been freely given, but mostly rejected by a hate-filled and depraved world of men and women that will not listen. God will no doubt be giving those over to their lust and hate.
I was reading in Matthew 23: about the seven woes that Christ has given to those who so desperately want to keep power and control in this very temporary world of flesh. in verse 14 He tells us that not letting others enter the Kingdom of Heaven or even entering it ourselves starts the series of woes. We would rather convert people in general over to a form of godliness that looks more like us than God. We blindly lead people to follow these man-made doctrines and traditions rather than follow God's word. Verses 23-24 shares the fact that we are involving ourselves and our control over every detail of worship but ignoring the importance of justice, mercy, and faith. We keep up appearances of following Christ while all the time in our private lives we continue to be corrupt. We act spiritually to cover our sin, and throw around our knowledge of history but have not changed at all in our own lives.
That actually paints a pretty good picture of where we are in America right now and we should be concerned about those warnings from Jesus because they were not just for the leadership of the Synagogues at the time, but for us as well. I know many within the church of today who can fit into some of those woes quite well don't you? We have a choice of allowing these things to govern us in the future; to get so bad that God gives us over to the sins that we are embracing, or to bring ourselves once again to our feet as we lift Jesus in praise and honor to really be our Lord and Savior. My friends If we stand for Christ there will be a great purge of those who refuse to allow God to take control of the work done through them. It is unfortunate to think that the need for their control will cause God's Spirit to prune many from the vine. Purging from within, and purging from without will cause a great deal of pain and confusion, but it will also purify the church in ways that we cannot imagine. My friends that day is coming when we will no longer be able to play games with our faith in Christ. I pray that your eyes will be open to receiving the deepening of God within your lives as He pours out His Spirit in your life. I praise God for every remembrance of you through our faith in Christ Jesus. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
