IF WE SAY THAT WE LOVE GOD #1
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
I cannot help but bring to our attention the great need for us to stay close to the teachings of Christ in this age. One of the greatest teaching tools ever used has been the parables of Christ that He used to tell us about the Kingdom of God. Although we don't see much of this type of teaching today I would like to introduce a series of parables to illustrate some of the pressing problems we have in the church today.
One day an infant child had grown enough to make an attempt to walk The child had watched others and was drawn to trying to imitate what was seen. The first attempt was very traumatic for the child because the baby stood and immediately fell. The child's immediate reaction was to cry out of frustration and fear and needed to be comforted and held for a time.
Because of a driving urge to still walk was greater than the fear of failure the child continued to try. Time after time, the same results were seen until one day the baby was close to a table where it could grab hold and pull itself to a standing position. Again the babies legs were wobbling, but with the support of the furniture, the baby could stand for longer periods of time until finally, the baby could let go of the support that the furniture provided. After a time the baby's confidence returned to try to walk once again, and this time it was met with success.

A man's spiritual walk is much the same as the efforts of a child when we first try to walk in Christ. We must remember that when we are borne into Christ we are newly born. The process is in dealing with what it means for us to choose to will our lives over to the ownership of Christ our Savior and pursue a day by day sacrifice of our will to be influenced by a temporary life we are convinced that is tied to trial, error and ultimate defeat. Our success as a child of God depends upon our ability to first be able to trust and lean on those who are more mature in Christ than we are; much like the baby holding on to a piece of furniture. If we find an element within the church body that is untrustworthy in any way it is likely that our ability to trust and grow to the point of walking in Christ on our own will be impaired as well. For the new Christian, it is important that they find someone who they can reach out to for comfort and understanding as they try and fail to imitate Christ. It is during this time that many people are literally dying on the vine before they can be established in the church because they have not established that all important love, energy, grace, and trust to build up their confidence to walk spiritually That is why I want to begin this series of studies on "IF WE SAY THAT WE LOVE GOD". I am going to ask you several questions based on the truth about our saying that we love God to see where each of us finds our own life. Hold on to your seats! May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
