LETTING THE SPIRIT SPEAK

Greetings in the name of Jesus:


This is the Season of Harvest, and while this world is celebrating Ghosts Scarecrows and Witches we who are in Christ Jesus should be celebrating a time of harvesting souls.

  This time of the year used to be "All Saints Day" and the celebration of those who had already departed from us, but it has been turned into a time of spookiness and wickedness that brings out more trick than treat.  I can personally remember a time when dressing up in costume was fun and the journey from house to house out in the dark walking from door to door in the country was a great adventure.  Those times have been tainted now because of the evil of men and women who would rather cause more harm than good in this world.  Fortunately, we have our own Spirit directly within us to ward off any potential evil from the mind and hearts of men; it is the power of God's Holy Spirit that lives in and abides with each of us always.

  I don't know about you but I enjoy painting up little pumpkins to hand out to the little children each year.  I enjoy dressing my little dog up and taking crazy pictures of the costumes I might wear to great and meet others with.  If we approach this time of year with the right intent of heart and the right message for all others to see we can still do some good in Christ Jesus rather than crawling in a hole somewhere until the world has it's fun.  Let's join in and speak out for the Spirit within us and allow Jesus our Lord to penetrate the darkness.

I don't know about you but I believe that if we who are called by the name of our Lord will take a stand we can turn our country back around to the days we all cherish and remember fondly. We have a great and wonderful country that we all should be proud of, and I believe that we as Christians can make our country a place we can be proud of again in Christ Jesus.  God tells us that the fields are white unto Harvest...it's Harvest time!  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
