THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

I really don't think that many of us understand the real privilege of prayer; you know actually being able to speak directly to the Father through the Spirit of Christ who dwells within us.  It is really easy for us to get caught up in the turmoil of this world screaming at us about the mere thought of God, and then if He does exist Him not caring about us as a creation.

For the Christian, this becomes a form of persecution that is endured in some form almost every day, and yet few of us ever say anything about it.  Prayer and the word are so closely linked that it is hard to separate the two.  David wrote in Psalms 119:107 " Prayer and the word of God are inseparable, and should always go together in the quiet time of the inner chamber".  It is getting harder all of the time for us to find that place of quiet to really make proper contact with God.

To me when I think of prayer I think of a conversation between myself and God that allows me to speak and ask questions, but which also allows God to speak back to me through the guidance and the direction of the Holy Spirit to find where His word gives an answer.  I find that many times when God speaks to me I don't understand His word to me at first.  I automatically think that somehow the scripture does not fit the problem I am trying to solve, and so I have to read further in the scripture to find out where He is beginning to connect with my situation.  God may want to speak to me for a longer period than I think necessary, but if I stick with Him He will show me how what He is saying to me applies to my life.  It is usually something that I never would have thought of on my own., but it is always something that if it is applied to my life will produce results that are centered in His will for me.

We need to find out where our personal inner chamber is and be consistent in going there to meet with God on a regular basis. It is always interesting to me that God has always used His word to create with.  The more time we spend with His word being able to influence our lives the better we will be at finding answers that are pleasing to both ourselves and to God.  Since we are created in His image we too create with our words. as well just the same way.  We don't create physical things with our words, but we do create emotions.  Those emotions can and often do shape our lives in ways that we can never imagine.  It is important to remember that prayer is a privilege that is given to us by the Father through the Son, and with the direct help of the Holy Spirit.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
