FINDING YOUR LIFE AND LIVING IT TOO

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

Have you ever heard the quote: "HAVING YOUR CAKE AND EATING IT TOO?"

We are starting to see people who want everything for free, and without any accountability to be had for their behavior.  In Hebrews 4:12 it tells us " For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

In most cases, we concentrate on getting someone to accept Christ, but we spend very little time in getting that soul to the point that they can walk in Christ on their own. This kind of thing has bothered me for many years about the church.  It has caused us as a body to seek answers through finding programs and books to follow to plug people into a small group of fellowship and a sense of belonging, but that does not help new Christians to grow; it simply introduces them to a philosophy of approaching Christ that they may or may not understand.  We actually need to take the time to connect with one another in a different way.  We need to take the time to once again teach the way that Jesus taught through finding mentors for people to work with much like the sponsors in an addiction program that have gone through similar problems and have come out on the others side able to walk securely in Christ.

We are individuals to God, and He works within us in a very personal way.  It is never in a "cookie-cutter" way where one program fits all people.  I find that the ministry is all consuming for me and that those whom God has chosen to be put into my life may take all of my time and energy no matter how many or how few they may be; especially if I am to minister in the right way to them, and to lead them into a relationship with Christ that puts their feet on solid ground.

I am certain that among those twelve chosen by Christ as disciples Jesus spent a great amount of time finding out what their personal needs were spiritually and attending to those things that held their belief at bay.  In many ways, we are undertaking a responsibility far greater than anything we can imagine to try to teach and lead someone in Christ Jesus without getting truly involved within their lives.  It does not take our perfection in Christ to make the difference, but it does take our commitment to the love that Christ has placed within us for one another to show us how to find out life and live it too,  I thank God for every one of you who come and share this time with me, and I pray that our attitude of becoming of one mind and one heart continues to grow in Christ.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
