PEACE, JOY, AND LONG SUFFERING PEOPLE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:


 GALATIANS 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. against these things, there is no law."

  While we may see a lot of fruit walking around today, not much of it is Spiritual in nature, and that prompts me to ask why we, in general, cannot live in such a way that honors our fellow man?

We are in a season of Harvest right now and while my wife and I are enjoying the fruits of the Harvest season the rest of the community seems to be turning to darker things like Halloween to find scary things to pump their adrenaline a little more for the season.  If we continue to read in Galatians 5:24  We begin to see that those people who do have the qualities found in verses 22-23 have done one thing that all others have refused to do..."Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified their sinful nature."
 The fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit through us.  The Holy Spirit produces the same characteristics in us that are found in Christ Jesus. They are the bi-products of Christ's control of our lives. In order for us to have these things in our lives, we must know Him, love Him, and imitate Him, and by doing so we will have fulfilled the intended purpose of the law to love one another as God has loved us.

Those people who live outside of the control of Christ are really never free, but they are enslaved by Satan, self, and others who only want to manipulate them.  If we live within the power of God's Spiritual control we will automatically begin to show forth these spiritual traits that are spoken of in these scriptures.  If we continue to obey the law or the rituals we make to fulfill the law we will find that although we may fulfill a need to be right we will have missed the change to be correct for the Spirit of God through us is the only way we can fulfill the law.  Most of us have tried to live according to the word of God, but what we really need to do is to live by the Spirit of God.  The Spirit of God through us is the only way we can fulfill the love that God has given us to share with this world.  In this case, the more we share the love of God through His Spirit the more love God flows through us to give others and have as our own source of life.  This simply a basic truth from the Father through His word and through His actions toward us.  I thank God for each one of you in this Harvest season.  It is time for the Harvest of souls as well so I will meet you in the fields!  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
