WHERE TWO OR MORE ARE GATHERED IN MY NAME...
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I have said for a while that the feelings I get about this year bother me with regard to what the Christian faces, but also it encourages me to a great degree. I know as an example that the only thing that persecution will do is to cause people to hold on stronger to their faith in Christ.
There is a story about an argument that the wind had with the sun about who was the strongest. The wind saw a man walking with a big coat on and said " I bet I can get that man to remove his coat before you can!" The sun agreed, and the wind began to blow harder and harder to try to get the man to lose the coat through the force of the wind, but the man simply held onto it tighter, and even though he was blown down and tried to find protection behind different things he held on to his coat. Then the sun came out and gently shown down on the man...the day was suddenly beautiful, and it was not long before the man took off the large coat to enjoy the day. We can be very rough on those whom we feel are not doing what we think is right, but it isn't fighting with them that will make the difference, but loving them and showing them in a gentle way how much love they can have. We may not be allowed to love them, but we can love one another showing them what real love is. Even the smallest group of people can have a tremendous influence on a community when we take the simply step to do as the first church did...which is to love and show the world how to love through one another.
This last Sunday morning we did not have the chance to be together because of in climate weather, but in a smaller group of believers from house to house we met in two's or three's to feel God's power and blessings. Did you go ahead and have church anyway at your house? What about your family? What about you? This year there will be great temptations to let our faith slide for what ever reason...but remember the gentleness of love like the warmth of sunshine as compared to a cold blistering day, we can influence those around us through the simple love we show for one another in Christ Jesus. We are planning perhaps to have that service again this next Sunday because of the importance of it in the body May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
