THE ACTS OF THE SPIRIT WITHIN US
Greetings in Jesus Name:
I don't know how long it takes for some people to develop a sense of God within their lives after they say they want to belong to Jesus...in fact just to say that we want to belong to Christ takes more than just the words used. It takes our heart being connected as well, and a true sense of determination that we want to change our life styles to fit into the teaching that God has given us in the Good News from Christ.
If I were to be completely honest with you about it I have not seen a great deal of people who have really shown that kind of change in their lives. I see people who have committed to going to a church service on a Sunday Morning, and yet who have not really changed what they do or how they think about issues in life that really show much difference. Probably one of the worst kinds of Christian today can be found in those who are the most comfortable in Christ. It is in those who have found a place within the church life they live that does not make any requirements of them to do anything but to attend. Some people even cover the lack of commitment they have to devote their life by giving money to the church to become a witness for them, but that isn't commitment ...it's money. It is what the world throws at problems to make them go away and (NOT BOTHER THEM).
I have have found that it is often those who give the least in the Kingdom of God who are willing to give the most in their heart to God. I have never understood that until I realized how much the things of this world control us from actually letting God into our hearts. In a way I guess we all fight with the things of this life, and with the things we need to survive. I have found however, that most of us fight with that which we want much more than that which we need. When it comes down to trusting God for everything that we have the issue deepens because we have never really had to trust God in that way as we have lived in this country...at least not until now. We have prayed along with many others about God sending revival to our country, and yet I don't think we have realized that in order for us to have any real revival here we are going to have to be stripped of all that is between us and Him so that we have to trust in Him. We often pray for things half heartily when we know the truth about what has to take place in order for what we have prayed for to come about. If we have revival we must also experience persecution, because until we know what God's promises are really all about, and what our commitment to Him must be we will never feel His power in our lives. Not until we begin to realize our position in this life with God as our Lord and Savior and us as a servant who has been given charge over what ever wealth that is in our possession right now will we begin to see the truth. Are we faithful to our Lord? Are we ready to give an account for all we have been given and how we have used it? The Holy Spirit calls us to be unified in mind and heart...what are we to do with that? These and many more questions are built around what the church should be to us. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
