TRUTH TELLERS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
In so many ways over this last year I have seen a change in the way this world is treating truth. In fact even those who have at one time said they loved the truth are starting to hold back from exposing themselves to that which they don't like to hear. It is that kind of convicting truth that becomes very difficult for your mind to turn off when you go to sleep at night that I am talking about right now. It is the same kind of truth that makes your heart to realize just how far away from God you really are, and that makes you want to do anything you need to do to hide from the light that it shines on your personal hearts intent to sin.
Truth Tellers are never very popular in general to people even though they may be respected from a distance the chances are that they will not have many friends around them. 2 Chronicles 24:15-22 "He sent prophets to them...but they would not listen". The message that these truth tellers carried often put them in harms way...they were persecuted, and many times faced death. Today this world hates the truth more than it ever has because time is running out. Hebrews 11:32-38 speaks to some of the things these men had to endure in order to stand for God's word within their hearts.
Our job is no different than was theirs as far as the witness given to the truth in our lives is concerned. We are to stand and to give an account to the things that God has not only given us to say or do but to show that witness in the life He has caused us to live because of that truth. I know that we will not be popular in the main stream of this world. Even though I speak and teach the truth I have a very hard time keeping a group of believers around me who say they want to study and hear that truth. The reason is the same as it was during the ministry of Jesus. It was not the man they hated, but the message they hated and would do almost anything to avoid...and so that is where the opposition came from Luke 4:21-30.
Reconciliation with God comes with a price of justice and integrity according to Micah 6:8 and 2 Corinthians 5:18-21. This may mean that we need to put ourselves on the line for God and to speak the truth even though the opposition may bring us to harm, but this is the charge of every believer until Jesus returns to set all things right in the eyes of God. Revelations 20:11-15....may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
