WHAT DOES GOD REALLY MEAN?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

What does God mean... when He says to love your neighbor as you love yourself?  I can tell you that it does not mean anything more than what it says...how much do you love yourself?  What would you do for yourself if you had a need?  If you can answer that question then you already know what you should be willing to do for your neighbor.  If that is a problem for you then it is time to reassess your priorities.  I just recently wrote about the concept of ownership of what we have not really being ours...but rather God's, and then put into our hands, and into our stewardship to use for what ever God wants us to do with it.

Many times we do not think of ourselves as servants, but as owners of what we have in life , and therefore we make the decisions of what goes where, and to whom we shall show mercy.  We forget our real place in life, and who it is that really is in charge.  Like the good servant or the wasteful servant or the hateful servant...we are the servant, and that is the bottom line that we must not forget.  What God really means  is that no matter how much we have been given in life we are not the boss of it...God is.  If we think that we did it all remember who made you and put the talents within you to create and do what it is that you do. If that isn't enough to convince you remember the foolish man who said "Lets eat drink and be merry" but whom God said "this very night your soul will be required of you, and then who will all this belong to?"

God really means that He loves you so much that He will bring what ever upon you that He needs to in order to get your attention on what is important between the two of you, and it could be that if you have felt a little extra beat up lately it may mean that you need to pay a little more attention to your relationship with Him.  God is not hard to understand...He has the same emotions about things as you do...His are just perfect, and yours are not.  God means what He says...He does not lie, and His agenda is to have you as close to Him as possible so that He can protect you from all this this world throws at you.  The first objective then is to get things straight about who the owner of your things are...it is God who is the owner, and it is you who have been put in charge of what you have...it is that simple.  Now; how much do you love yourself?  Let that be the guide to how much you should love someone else...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
