DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR VALUABLES ARE?
Greetings in Jesus name:
I guess in order to know where something is we first need to know what it is? In the case of having something become valuable to us it has to be attached to our lives and our identity in some way. In the world around us most of the real personal things that have always been a part of what we have cherished has been centered around family. Remember the days when your mother held on to something from your grandmother that she remembered as a child growing up? Family has been slowly stripped away from us to the point that the heirlooms from the past mean little to nothing to most people today. In particular when we get away from the cradle areas of the bible belt in this country very little is held on to which does not have a money value attached to it. The very memory of family has been changing along with the values we have given things.
When I ask "Do you know where your valuables are?" it really means much more than just the surface value of the question...where do you store those parts of yourself that no one but you has access to? What parts of who it is that you really are have to do with what you believe to be true today...and what are they? For the last generation or so this world has been chipping away at these core values so much that many of the things have been torn apart that we have thought were constants in our lives. Everything has been up for grab including our very love and faith in a Savior. The information age not only brought us instant access to information, but also a ton of questions that the enemy can use to confuse us. The rabbit trails of information have taken away a solid commitment to one answer in this world, and while only one answer remains there are more and more questions asked that lead nowhere but away from God. The things that we value in this life need to have meaning, and give us stability otherwise they become nothing at all.
The book of Acts shows us the very core of what can change our lives for the better; which include Faith, Hope, and Love which is the core of God within us. We can still find these things that have given us guidance, but we need to seek after the God who created them and us first. I have a feeling that this year will be a mighty test to all men and women who have held onto the values of Jesus Christ our Lord. This year will soon show the true nature of the evil that surrounds us in this country. We must begin to count on one another as we once did family, and recreate the bond of values that last within our minds and hearts. Will you stand with me in this effort to awaken those things within our spiritual family wherever you find them that awakens the Bride of Christ to the truth? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
