WHAT KIND OF SEEDS ARE YOU PLANTING?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

A very large number of Christians never think about the thoughts and ideas they spread in the minds of those they speak to in a day, and that may well be the reason that there are so many who are either turned off or very confused about what being a Christian means today.  Many times we don't realize the kinds of seeds we are sowing in someone else's life until the crop starts to grow.  It is particularly true for our children.  Anyone whom you have influence over is subject to the kinds of seed that you cast out in your life.  When we place ourselves in a position of mentoring someone the scale of responsibility increases tremendously.  That is why we must be doubly careful in our lives to live according to God's word and to always seek to walk in His will each moment of our lives; we can never let up on that not even for a moment.

The stakes are so much higher than they have ever been in this world for us to make a mistake because the sin can and will be caught by someone who is watching you.  Today the results are not in rumors of someone hearing about an indiscretion in the way of gossip but now it is broadcasted by so many forms of media through cell phones and computers in an effort to destroy your witness in Christ.  If we claim Christ and live according to His word we will no longer have the right to live our own life, or to be able to express our opinions like we used to; but now we are locked into a commitment to Jesus teachings.  That seems like a pretty harsh environment at first until we realize that our whole journey in Christ should be about changing the natural man that we have always been into a creature who will fit into the Kingdom of Heaven.  My question is   " How easy do you think that will be to accomplish?"

When I was much younger someone said to me " Are you in love, or just in love with the idea of love?"  I believe there are many Christians today who need to ask themselves that question concerning their love for Christ over their love for this world.  Do we actually love God enough as Jesus showed us; to sacrifice who we are as people in exchange for receiving salvation through His Spirit, or are we simply in love with the idea that God loves us so much that He gave us a way to find Him, and we made a verbal commitment to love Him.  If you said it did you mean it?  If you did where is your proof?  Where is the fruit of your harvest, and the witnesses to your walk in Christ?

These are simple straightforward questions that each of us must at some point deal with.  I believe that every one of us should be mentors to someone, but in doing so we need to get our own act together with our relationship with Christ.  I pray that we can begin to deal with those things that have been used as a can kicked down the road in our lives; these issues need to be settled.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
