THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE THAT OTHERS READ
Each one of us has a different story, and each of our stories is told in different ways. What we do not see about our story is how it has changed over the time of our lives. We seldom ever see the different points of our life where the story we told hurt others and was probably bad in some way, and those people, in turn, have never probably seen what has happened in our lives that made begin to change or turn into the people we are today.
It is funny how these different perspectives are missed in a life. For most people only see the cut and dried version of who we are right now instead of who we were at one point or the tremendous person changes that have had to happen to us to make us into someone who becomes all but unrecognizable to some from our past. In a huge way, it becomes the perspective used to look at a life story even more-so than even the events that have taken place. If we are in someone's past that have hurt us we will always carry that pain with us, while if we are just meeting that same person we can reserve opinion when we can see a change in that person with a redeeming quality or a turn-around in their life. I believe that is why God's perspective on our lives is so important,, and that we try to look at each life as a progressive story.
I think many times of the condemned prisoner who finds themselves released from one prison only to be held in another by the opinions of others. They have been labeled for their life even though their lives are not thought of as a wast to God. We may not realize this, but we have held one another in a kind of prison because of our perspective of their life. God views our life from the standpoint of the change made in us over that period of life...Praise God for that kind of love! If we could somehow manage to use this same kind of perspective to view others with, we would have a completely different outlook on the relationships we have in this world.
If we can think together for a moment about our lives through God's eyes we can see clearly that He has a laser focus upon who it is He wants to create us to be rather than upon who we are right now. That is why He has taught us to continue the race as an endurance race instead of as a prize race, it also goes hand in hand with the teachings of Jesus throughout all of the foundations of our faith in God. The plan of Salvation is itself built around this same perspective, and rightly so, because unless we are all changed in some way...transformed by the renewing of our mind and heart we will in no way fit into God's perfect Heavenly Kingdom.
The person that we right now will continue to change based on what we learn and experience in Christ. I believe that is the way God has made us evolve into His Children through this constant change. As we observe the people around us perhaps we can begin to do so with a slightly different perspective than we may have had before this; a more Godly view of how we see others grow in Christ. Let us slow down from the trot we now have to a steady walk where we can have the time to reach down and help someone along the way who may have fallen.
May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
