WARFARE COMES IN THE FORM OF STORMS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
STORMS are a part of life in general both in the physical sense and in a Spiritual sense as well. I believe we rarely think about the idea of spiritual storms even though they are a daily part of our lives. God calls them storms of life because they all have the potential to become dangerous in some way if we open ourselves up to an attack. In the old testament, the Spirit gives us warnings about there being dangerous roads Jerimiah 6:25 and how those choices can affect our lives. We should not be fearful of these storms because they will always be with us, and I do not believe they are directed to one person in particular; it is just a part of living in this world, but I do believe that we can and should be prepared for what could come our way.
When I look at these things in one way I can see warfare spiritually that comes to us in the way of storms if we become too spiritually relaxed and comfortable. God tells us to always be watchful for problems that may come up. I see people constantly getting caught in some kind of storm without being prepared to deal with it. There is a commercial that is currently playing where a person is standing in front of their computer and then they suddenly get hosed with water that represents surcharges that they didn't see coming! We may get soaked by the world time and time again when we are being led around by untrustworthy people. Jesus tells us we can see a physical storm coming if we look into the sky, and we can seek shelter from it, and the same is true if we are tuned into God's Holy Spirit and look at what is going on around us. The Father always wants for us to be safe and yet there are times when we need to learn a lesson being taught as well.
We all have the freedom of choice as to what we do with this warfare in storms, but the foolish man may sometimes try to take on a storm by stepping out into it under his own strength and will not know what more that storm will produce. Unseen things like lightning strikes or heavy winds may blow trees or limbs in your path as you stumble through the darkened places of life. We need to learn how to use the protection that God has provided for us. One way to be protected is to always stay into the word of God for instruction about these storms. God has never said that He would take us out of these problems but He did say that He would provide protection for us if we use it. There are three things that I have found very valuable in this effort: 1. Prayer; and I don't mean a simple quick prayer as you go out of the door, but real-time being with God. 2. Staying in the word of God every day as you seek answers for the troubles that you face. 3. Accountability, by finding someone you can trust in Christ to share within Christ what is going on in your life.
Each of these areas is important to be ready for any storm in this life; especially when that storm turns into Spiritual Warfare. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
