WHAT SHOULD THE SOWER SOW THAT WILL GROW?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Each week seems to start out the same way; I seem to be in prayer as to what God wants me to say this week to those from all over the world who pick up on these words. Today is no different as I glanced through the word and found the scripture that was underlined from Matthew 13: 3-10 about the sower, and the ground that the seed fell upon.
There isn't any way that anyone can know the situation in another's life, but I do know that the right word from God's Spirit will fall upon the right person at just the right time. It takes prayer on our part to be ready for God to use our lives in His way. It is not simply an automatic process where we learn the word and then we use it like we would a school book. God's word is a living part of who we are when we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of each and every moment that we draw breath. Many of those who teach or preach have a heart for God thats true, but they still have not allowed God to take the complete control of who they are to the point that it is no longer they who control the ways the Gospel is sown, but the actual work of sowing is done through the power of the Spirit, and they become the tools used.
It is that difference then this week that we will talk about. The simple difference between what happens with the seeds that we willingly sow of the Gospel and the ones that we allow the Spirit of God to sow through us. All of us have the tendency to want to control what goes on in our lives because it is a part of our human trait. It will always be a part of a knee-jerk response for us to protect ourselves any kind of complete take over of our right to choose. While God is upfront about the process of giving Him complete control, Satan and the evil that is this world is not. There will never be a direct question asked about your choice in this world to do something; it will always come from an angle that makes you feel that it was your idea all along. It will likely be the least resistance or the easier way to achieve the same goals, it may have a shortcut to a response that would take more time to create or a simple way to get more people to respond, and less work for you.
My point here is that we know in general how the world works us to deflect the power of the word of God to others, but what we often to not get is that we can't hope for any of what we say or do to get any kind of root in a heart without the Holy Spirit is the one to do that sowing through us; we don't get the truth many times that we are not the sower, but the tool used by God's Spirit to sow with.
When we can begin to understand what our relationship is to the power of God within our lives we will begin to see the relationship between our power to sow the seed of God's word versus the power of the Holy Spirit using us as a tool to do the same work. The difference is quite astonishing! This week join with me as we discuss this change, may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
