I HAD PEACE WHEN I LEARNED I COULD NOT LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
When I learned finally I was forced to go back to the scriptures to find out why that I was unable to live the Christian life myself, I was forced to go back to the scriptures to find out why there was nothing that I could do to make up the gap that separated me from God. What I did not understand was that since sin had entered into the equation we as a creation were all appointed to die, but the death that we are facing isn't just a physical death in this world, but a spiritual death to this world.
Most people don't understand what real death is all about; real death is our separation from God, and it comes to us eternally upon our death in this world without first having a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is why Jesus said, " don't fear those men who can kill the body, but rather fear God who can not only kill the body but also destroy the soul". Our time and place in this life is really very limited when we think in terms of eternity and we fall short when we think of only the limited parts of this life. We fear death because we don't know what takes place after this life. God has told us what is next, but we have to listen to Him. We first need to understand that we can never attain perfection...it does not exist in this physical world. Mankind has never been able to achieve perfection yet, but God's Kingdom demands perfection at all times and in everything. The closest thing that we have to perfection is our imitation of perfection which is always off the mark to some degree.
Quite frankly I think that is why Lucifer rebelled because as beautiful as he had been created, and as much power as God had given him to be able to guard the very throne of Heaven he was not created to be perfect for he could not himself create. With all of his pride and ego, he could not manage even the responsibility that he had been given without craving more. That is another sign of his imperfection. Lucifer wanted to rule as God ruled. He wanted his own kingdom; he wanted to steal God's place. Even with everything that had been given to Lucifer he still was created by another who was more powerful than he was, and he allowed that to eat away at him until he rebelled. I don't know if it was our freedom to choose that caused his downfall, or if it was his obsession with ownership but we are made a lot like that too. There is a place within us that we have trouble controlling in the intent of our heart, and our tongue. That seems like the two areas that Lucifer had trouble with too
When I found out that I could not do anything about my situation with sin I was very depressed for a time because I wanted to be able to get as close to God as I could...the problem is that I had to die spiritually to this world before I could realize that I no longer live, but it is Christ who lives through me Christ is the only way for me to achieve perfection spiritually.
We are all born with the potential to become who God has created us to be. He has a plan and a design for us if we will seek after Him for that development and growth, but unfortunately few of us ever do that and so many of us never find out who we were really created to be. In many cases, we waste that gift given to us. We can never find out until we are completely dead to self. Who are you going to grow up to be? All I really know is that we have no ability to live for Christ by ourselves. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
