WHAT IS TRUE VALUE?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

The idea of true value is not a store name where we can go to find anything we might need or want.  What true value is centers around what your life is built upon, and what you would do to keep that in your life.  God has been very straight forward to us about what is at the center of His life, and it deals with a loving relationship with us.

I cannot help but think about all of the things within my short life time that I have said to myself were the most important things in my life...that focus has changed for me over the years as I have learned more...experienced more, and changed more.  When I look back at it I can see myself like a small child running from one thing in this life to the next picking of toys and clinging to them for a while until something new and shiny comes along that catches my attention more than what I had been playing with.  I simply drop what I have in my arms and go toward the next thing that is the most valuable thing in my life at that moment.

It is not that what we cling to is necessarily a bad thing to deem as important to us, but the problem is in what we have put our faith in.  When we begin to wrap all that we are up into anything that is physical we stand to really loose everything eternal about us.  The word of God tells us that by clinging to anything within this world in that way we begin to loose our relationship with God.  When we try to hold on to God and pick up something else as well our arms are too full to hold on long, and we will drop one or the other...sometimes both.  There are many people out in this world who are trying to find a way to carry loads that are way too big for them.  When we are on a computer many times we have a file that is just too big to send in it's present form...it has to be downsized and allowed to shrink before it can be sent or carried in the system.  Jesus has said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and that if we will concentrate on Him He will take care of everything else in our lives...that includes those things that we want to carry in this life.  We may not be able to carry them but Jesus certainly can.  That means that we are balanced in this life and can allow Him to be the center of our lives while the other things are cared for by Him.  We don't ever loose these things if we give them to Jesus to carry, but they are not the center of our lives any more...He is.

Our concepts of true value can easily be seen in our worries over things. Perhaps it is money, or family or even friends that has been taking that center role in your life, and adding such a huge burden to what you carry...you cannot fit it all into your small arms for very long before you will loose your balance and something will fall.  Let your true value be in your relationship with God who can carry it all for you as you carry Him in your heart...it is safe and secure right along with you which is who God wants to carry in His arms for all eternity.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
