THE PROCESS OF LETTING GO
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
There was a man walking alone in a deep woods setting, and he got turned around and lost his way. The night was coming upon him and not knowing his way he could not see the trail ahead...suddenly he stepped over the edge of a high cliff and as he fell he grabbed hold of a limb that was overhanging the edge of the cliff. He struggled to hold on, and yelled for help. Not being a religious man he very soon started to lose all faith that someone would find him before he plunged to his death. All night long he hung there; his arms wrapped around the tree limb until his strength began to fade. He could feel himself slip little by little...he was losing the feeling in his arms from holding so tightly for the long night. He could not see the bottom for it was just pitch blackness below him. In a last dig panic he cried out "God save me"...and he heard a voice in his head say "let go" he tried to do all he could to hold on even tighter. The voice came again "let go" and he knew that no one else was there...his mind raced at the thought of the fall and as his grip weakened he could see the early sunlight coming through the trees and slowly down the side of the cliff walls and just as his fingers let go the light shown on the ground that was just inches away from his feet... We look but we do not see, we hear but we do not listen; to a voice that is telling us to simply trust in God and let go of this world.
While this little story can be used to show how foolish we are about demanding our own control over the wisdom of God, it also shows us what is going on while we are desperately trying to cling to this world. The truth is as long as we cling to this world we will never know the real truth from God about life and what we have in store for us.
Like it or hate it this world will pass away because it has been meant from the beginning to be a prison of damnation for those whom have cursed God and rejected Jesus Christ. I know there are many out there who are dedicated to saving our world, and yet in the end it will be a useless endeavor because of God's plan and purpose for this world. It is this thought that God has put in His word to us when He states "we will either love one and hate the other , or Clevie to one and despise the other" We cannot serve both God and mammon. The day is coming swiftly that we as believers will be forced to give an account for our belief in Christ Jesus...and there very well may be consequences to face in that witness to Jesus Christ. All of these things have been already written down for us that we should understand the price that should be paid in these last days. My heart goes out to those who are looking for the rapture to save them from any kind of real suffering for Christ in this life...for we have not yet striven unto blood for the cause of Christ in this world, and yet many will deny Jesus just as Peter did who have made claims that they would die for Him. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
