WE SHOULDN'T TALK ABOUT SIN BECAUSE JESUS DID NOT COME TO CONDEMN
Greetings in the name of Jesus :
I am amazed by some of the concepts that people are being taught in various churches today. It is not so much the words that are taught but the mannerisms used that cause people to walk away with a completely wrong concept of what God is trying to say to us.
The idea that Jesus was so kind and loving to us is good, but it can also be very misleading to someone when that is all they really hear. Matthew 23:13-29 finds Jesus with a scathing rebuke to the Scribes and Pharisees with 8 major woes; and then Jesus finishes His discourse out throughout verse 30-39 with some of the most harsh words ever given by the Son of God within His ministry to us. Among those things that Jesus said are 4 that I would like to touch upon in this blog and finish out the other four in the next edition.
1. I want to cover what Jesus began to say to them, and in many ways to us today when we place so many creeds and doctrines in the way of finding and having a relationship with Christ Himself. These denominations "or divisions" in the church cause nothing to happen that draws people together as a unified body in Christ. While in our hearts we know this to be true we still will cling to the traditions set down by our forefathers even through they are clearly wrong in the teaching of Christ. Anything that is used to divide us from one another is not of Christ or God's Spirit.
2. The second woe from Christ to the leadership of the Synagogues as well as to us today is to deal with the hypocrisy of looking good in the eyes of the world while at the same time being of no real earthly good to those in need around us. The prompt and circumstance that surrounds many services leads us to believe some of these leaderships must live in the back pocket of God, and yet in truth they continue to rob from those who have little in order to continue their own life styles. They easily pass by on the other side when they see a situation that requires a Godly man to intercede.
3. The third woe from Jesus deals with what we have been doing to and still do to those who come to Christ with a full heart, and are taught to do as we do. It is a proven fact that many Christians become apathetic and boarded with simply taking one class after another just to keep them busy and make them feel "plugged in" to an ideal which is seeker sensitive. Most of these people literally stop growing at some point or begin to look for something more in their faith because what they are getting does not match up to God's promises for their lives.
4. The last woe from Jesus starts to really get serious because it deals with our true allegiance. While we may say we are teaching God's word we end up only teaching to obey the parts of it that fit our denominational doctrines. Those who get brought up under such teaching become even worse off than we are because they fully believe they have been taught God's word...but it is error. This kind of teaching leads to an outward obedience of the doctrine but never allows them to know God in a full way. It is so unfortunate that there are so many people who will stand and argue doctrine with one another not knowing that neither have a right concept of what God desires from them which is a relationship with Him through their obedience to Christ Jesus. I will continue with this in the next blog...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
