YOUR MOST PRECIOUS POSSESSION
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
There has been many teachings on what we place value on in this life, but God is trying to draw our attention to those things that we have always had with us, and tend to forget as being gifts to us as well. Some of these things are more precious to us than life itself and yet we do not realize it because they have always been there with us...they are a part of who we were created to be. Our bodies are remarkable things for they allow us to see and move and feel and hear...and speak. These are gifts from God just in a physical way that we are not even aware of most of the time. Some of us have very precious gifts for music in playing instruments or in vocal expression. Some are very gifted artist, and others are gifted in the arts of personal communication and in helping others to see life more clearly.
The various things that God places upon our hearts and that gives us the drive and desire to go forward with ideas and the gifts we have to accomplish what we want to do in life all can be perceived as gifts from God to us. It has been clearly stated in the word of God that His desire is that we seek Him first in all things. It seems to me now for that to be a natural process, but it didn't always feel that way to me. There was a time when my life was so wrapped up in this physical world that I could never put God first even when I wanted to. When something controls your ability and drive in life that much we have to call it by it's proper name...IT IS AN ADDICTION.
I don't think that any of those among us who call themselves Christian would want to admit to the fact they are addicted to something; and yet it seems to me that we do have a deep addiction to the perspective we use in the ways we see things in this life. I believe if we were honest very few people can say that each morning when they wake the first thing they do is give that day to God. Few people can say that in truth they think about God all of the time throughout the day. Few people can really say that the things in life that drive them forth is their relationship with God; and yet it is what God desires from us.
This world; from the time we start until the very moment we leave this conscientiousness are subject to the manipulation and constant lies of this world about what is precious and important. All I am trying to do is to get you to think about the result of that on your heart. It is one thing to say to God " I believe in you" and quite another to say to God
" You are the most precious thing to me in this life". To really mean that, and test that out in our lives is even a deeper place to go.
God tells us that our life is the most precious thing to Him, and that He will do anything that He has to do to keep us from torment for all eternity. The one fact is that He can and will do nothing to help us along that pathway to life until we actually come to Him and ask for a relationship with Him. That means that we each one must awaken from our personal addiction at least long enough to find God, and then seek Him. I cannot speak for anyone but myself and yet I know that until I started to allow God's Spirit to help me think more clearly about what was going on all around me I was just simply apathetic to what happened unless it affected me directly. I can tell you that everyday you let this go in your life it will affect you more and more until you become miserable. I pray that you are not as stubborn as I was about this. This week we will unlock some of what is precious to you...what is your Pearl of Great Price? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
