THE COST OF DOING NOTHING
Greetings in Jesus:
In the teachings of these parables Jesus often asked if the people understood what what was being said. The people would always answer the same way "YES" because the parable or the story in itself was simple enough , but His question was so much deeper than just
" do you you understand the words?" His question was "Do you understand the meaning of the story?" From the very beginning of His ministry Jesus knew that most people would not respond to Him...especially those to whom He had been the closest as He had developed in the Spirit of God. As Jesus traveled back to Nazareth and began teaching...the people were of course amazed at His teachings because what He said was truth through God's Spirit, and yet they could not accept that truth because they thought they knew the man physically. They rejected Jesus on the basis of what they thought they knew...not what they really knew.
I have found a great deal of pain in this life comes from simply doing nothing when I have learned the real truth. In most every one of these parables Jesus spoke a truth about the Kingdom of God that was inner connected with the next phase of our walk with God. The message is always simple in that as we learn to obey God we must simply tell the truth about His grace and goodness without dictating who can understand that message.
We must actively allow God's message to take root in our heart in order to be changed or transformed by the power of His Spirit. Jesus knew that most people who heard these very simple messages would be too lazy to take action on them even if they did understand what He was saying. I believe that we are mostly all in that category when it comes to obedience to Christ. There is a much greater cost to doing nothing than we can perceive because with or without our approval life continues to move forward, and the element of time and change continues to work toward God's ultimate purpose which is His final judgment upon this world, and all within it.
It will never be that we were so blatant that we rejected Jesus like those in Nazareth did by judging truth by a false pride...most of us who come here believe in Christ, and in the truth of what these messages say; but at the same time most people will not allow their heart to see the truth of what God is saying in them. " We desperately need to do something about them". To stay as we are and ride out an ideal about God and about the truth is not enough to promote a transformation within us...we need to first of all hear these words and messages with Spiritual ears and then to obey what we hear with Spiritual hearts in order to promote transformation within our lives. Dear ones unless we are transformed we will not enter into the Kingdom. All of that comes back down to square one in how are we really hearing what God is saying to us? I have to ask myself every day if I have really become a living sacrifice to Jesus Christ that day? Every time I rise in the morning I have to renew my vow to Jesus Christ in order to be the man that He has created me to be in this life. Like anything else we have to really want this more than anything else in this life in order for God to transform our lives...it is not an automatic process that some how happens in spite of our desire and natural tendencies. We can no longer do nothing and get by because this world has grown more wicked by the day as we have sat and watched without doing anything.... May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
