THE TOTAL PACKAGE
Greetings in Jesus:
In many ways today we are beginning to experience what it is like to be carried along into a place in history against our will. There seems to be no place to hide or to run to that that will not be found and called on to give an account for our true hearts intent, and in truth I don't know of anyone in this life who truly embraces that idea with open arms. For me that thought is very sobering in realizing that God only cares for what is inside of this package for without a developed soul inside of this container I am worth nothing to God at all but to be thrown away, and burned.
This makes me also to realize that God will not be concerned about any of the things that we physically cherish...the things that we waste so much time and energy in trying to make into something important. There are many indications of God's lack of interest in this physical world, and in the physical parts of who we are that pop up in the teaching of Christ in parables. We find a real lack of concern over most of the things that we would claw at each other to obtain in this world so that we look better to other people or possess as a leverage to influence others, but I can't see where God is going to put any concern at all over saving in this physical world. If we look closely at the word of God to us we will find the only thing that is referred to over and over again deals with our spiritual welfare.
The one thing that God has indicated to us that He will do in this life is to do anything necessary to draw us spiritually closer to Him. That could mean many things...some good and some bad things as well. It all depends on how stubborn we intend to be in accepting Him and obeying Him. I have come to understand that it does not matter if it is through a spiritual conversion or even a physical injury; the loss of loved ones or the hardships of circumstances...it might even be the progressive death of our own body. My point is here that we are being called to an accountability, and that there is a sing main concern in the mind of God. Can God trust the love that we may have claimed to have for Him before we came into this life? I am sure that we all confessed our love for God before we came to live as men and women here because we knew God, and we had to be fully aware of the truth of our situation. If we prove false in our love for God it means that we are deceitful in the same ways that Lucifer was deceitful, and we will remain right here where we have been placed on top of the prison walls to suffer the same fate as the enemy does.
Here is where the good news comes in that Jesus brought to all of us...we don't have to go that way! If we do accept Jesus we can be spiritually transformed by the renewing of our mind and heart so that we can fit into His Kingdom. We have the chance to prove to God that we are truthful when it comes to a heart of love for Him. I am not talking perfection because none of us are perfect in anything that we try to do, but what I am suggesting is that we can be true within the intent of our heart to love God and to obey Him our of that love. One thing that we need to be very aware of is that intent like that will start the greatest war that we have ever experienced in our lives.
We have talked about the principalities and the powers that we will come up against, but we won't really see a fight start with that until we begin to get serious with God. You see it isn't just a matter of works that are done in the name of God that begins to change things.
There are many people who are doing good works and never have any problem; it is when our hearts start to change toward God that the problems with this world will start to manifest themselves. From the very beginning of this it has always been about our claim to love God. It is all about the process of God finding out what the truth is from us, and then making decisions that we need to make to allow God to begin to transform our hearts and minds into new creatures that fit into the Kingdom of Heaven. It is that precious spark of living Spirit from God that begins to grow within this carton of clay, and whether or not by our own free will we will give God the control back to God out of real love instead of some ulterior motive. You would be very surprised as to how closed Christians are to this thought, but I want to continue in this process of thought for a little while longer. I pray that you will join with me and with the Holy Spirit as we open this package of ours up a little more next time....may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
