Seeking the treasure of YOU

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

We had a good group of people on Sunday...many new faces, and I think I may have made some people uncomfortable as I spoke on the subject of Hidden Treasures.  I didn't talk about the treasure they could find in Christ, but the treasures they had inside of themselves that needed to be discovered.  At one point some of the younger people started to giggle when I asked all the people to touch one another and close their eyes so they could feel the power of the Spirit of God flow through them one to another.  You see people are uncomfortable in being connected that way, and yet it is the very kind of connection that God's Spirit calls on us to have with one another.

As we begin to seek the real Church that is described in Acts we need to realize that the relationship they had with one another was so real that God honored it with His presence among them.  That presence was felt by all who were there in various ways; in prayer, and as they shared the word they felt His very presence among them.  When I pointed out in the crowd of people and asked a very blunt question to people " What is the treasure that you are holding on to that you may need to give up to put God first in your heart"?  The room became very quiet.

We seldom realize the intensity involved in allowing God inside of our comfort zone because we treat God in the same manner that we treat others around us.  We attempt to control "How Much...How Far...and What" we allow God to pursue within  us.  That is why it is so uncomfortable for us to invite God's presence inside of us even within a Church service.  When we put our lives too closely into God's Holy presence we begin to feel movement and change, and that is the one thing that truly affects us because we cannot control that which is outside of our personal influence.  It means that we may not be able to control what happens, and where that influence may take us...that can be very uncomfortable to most people.

We are very close this year to unleashing the power of God throughout the local community in Christ.  We have been offered a free space to open up Christian activity in the community.  A door has been opened wide right downtown Two Rivers that is free to our ministry.  The goal and the directives are clear in that we need a place for Christian activities that is not under the guise of being a church or a denomination, but a Gathering place for Christians from all over the community.  We now have that open door that we as a body of believers must walk through.  Our directive is to begin to unify the many believers by offering them a place to gather and fellowship with one another without the restrictions of denomination in the way.  God has placed within us a treasure that we need to search out, and we do that through uniting with others believers in a fellowship of love and allowing God to be in our midst...doing the work that the Holy Spirit has been given to do among us.  The real treasure is that of growth in God's Holy Spirit as He teaches us to love and be loved by the other.  When we begin to stand together in the unity of God's Spirit there is no force that stop us...there is no principality that can come against us because we have God's favor.

Dear ones we are being called out from every direction to take a stand for Christ together in this country.  It is time for the world to see the power that is hidden within each of us when we unite in Jesus Christ and give witness to what He has done in our lives.  Let us begin to write our own parable for this world to hear.  He that has ears to hear...let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
