SPIRITUAL HEALING AND PHYSICAL HEALING

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

There has been many within the body of Christ who have been deceived by teachings about healing.  These teachings are telling them that sickness on it's own is due to sinful acts, and that those who claim healing physically are in some way closer to the center of God's will than others.

I truly think that God looks upon our physical bodies in the same ways as we might look upon a package that holds something of value.  I believe if the package functions and can continue to hold the precious gift without leaking or falling apart no matter how fragile it may be there is no need to worry over it.  In almost every case the package that something is in will sooner or later be discarded, and the contents will be used for the purpose for which they were created.  While is is true that God does not waste any part of us in this life that we give to Him among the very least important of all the things that we have to God is the package in which we are held, and yet because of our concern and the condition with which we live the main focus becomes the container itself and not the spirit within.

If we look at ourselves through God's eyes we would no doubt see a completely different person and situation.  If we look at a container we may at first see the outside and comment on how attractive it is, but if we know that the package holds the value of diamonds one of the first things we would want to see is what and how many diamonds were held within the package.  The package itself would very soon become secondary to the contents because the real value was never in the package, but in the contents.  We may ask some simple questions like: Is the package functioning properly?  Does it leak ? How fragile is the package?  What can the package be used for others than containing it's contents?  What are their flaws?

Simply put our human condition limits our God created ability to soar high above any thing that we can think or imagine in this life. We have no ability to recall our relationship with God or our prior existence, and we are only  able to use a small percentage of our minds.  What do you really think God views  with us that is so valuable?  We could dwell on this concept about how much we cherish the physical bodies we have and the great value that God must put on them because they mean so much to us; or we could look at the truth.  Once again I will say that God does not do anything without a reason...and in this case I believe the reason is because He is trying to get our attention switched from this world to the Kingdom of God.  Jesus healed others for the purpose of declaring Himself to be the Son of God, and so that others would listen to His message.  When Jesus saw that feeding five thousand people was not causing more belief...just more dependence He stopped.  I believe that the gifts of the Spirit are all in use today in various parts of this world.  I believe that each and every church body that is spread out across this world has a part of that Spirit trying to work in it through various gifts.  I also believe that God is not going to waste those gifts on a people whom will not use them properly, and that is why we have such a plastic view of the gifts of God's Spirit in America.  Even if God gave us these gifts we would and have soon turned them into a way to make profit...and not seek after Christ.  I believe we will continue to see very few physical manifestations of the power of God's Spirit until we learn how to once again seek after God with our whole heart mind, and soul.  Scripture has already dealt with the attitude of " Show us a sign and we will believe" when Christ told us that there will be no sign given except the sign of Jonah!  This means that when we get serious about what God has told us to do then He will open up to us, but not until we repent and turn.

My friends there is a great many of things that can still be covered by the Spirit on this subject.  Let's just say we have heard enough to chew on for a while right now...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
