UNDERSTANDING WHO YOU ARE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

ROMANS 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is...His good , pleasing and perfect will".

Every time I read a scripture like this one I come away with a little different take on it's meaning to my life.  In this the word speaks so clearly to our soul about who we are that we no longer have to seek to find ourselves, but simply become aware of who we already are created to be.  This speaks to the one who has come to Jesus Christ, and is still unaware of who God has made them to be.  In many cases we live for a very long time conforming to the patterns of this world around us.  That includes the ways we worship, the general attitude and mindset we may take in learning from God; and most of all our willingness to allow God to teach us who we really are.

We are not who we think we are...we are so much more , and God is trying to wake us up to the fact that we were actually created to lives and be with Him, and not as a creature of this world.  You see the process of being transformed actually is the process of our waking up on the inside to begin to see the truth of what the Good News of Jesus Christ means to us.  This thing we call transformation holds the key to the release of the captive spirit that we have been inside this clay vessel.  The human body we abide within is a kind of prison in many ways, because it limits our potential to be all that we have been created to be, and it is a part of beginning the journey to release our spirit from the denial and the limitations that this physical place holds us to.  In many ways I liken this process to the Caterpillar that emerges from a cocoon.  The change within us is breathe taking from a person bound to the limitations of this physical clay vessel, to a freed spirit which is able to experience it's fully created potential.  That transformation is just the beginning for us because of the things that await us yet in the presence of God that we can neither think of or imagine.  You see even the butterfly still has a physical state...so different in it's make up and so different in it's ability but still tied to this world.  Our transformation at it complete state will be when we become able to understand as we are already understood by our creator.

I don't think that most of have ever really thought about what that kind of freedom means to us.  It is a transformation of our mind and our heart in such a way that the worries and cares of this world are no longer a part of us.  Just as in this body I can easily stumble and fall; how much better it would be if I could just float from one place to another...never tripping or hurting myself.  What about all of the bills and the worries we have over the physical parts of going through life?  Health issues and safety issues...the general upkeep of things that we have in this physical existence are much more overwhelming than we even imagine in life. As we begin to awaken to a completely new and everlasting life with Christ many of these worries we have will become second hand to the tremendous future given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It is my prayer that you will be able to share in that joy with me as we prepare together for an eternal life of Joy that this world can never compare to.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
