WRITING YOUR OWN PARABLES

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

God's message goes on throughout our lives, and is carried on by us even though we may not realize it.  For each of our lives are indeed a different kind of parable that is being written as we live out this life. Some of us may resemble one of Christ's own parables like the Prodigal son or the lost coin, and we have all gone through some what the process of God's word (in seed form) trying to grow in the soil of our lives.

One of the things that I have discovered for my life is that I can also look a little deeper inside myself to find a very current parable that I am now working on writing for my life.
This can be a parable of pending victory as I read it, or it can be  an almost certain doom if I don't begin to listen to God.  The way the parable of my life turns out is really up to me, but know this ...this parable is being read clearly by everyone else around me as well. If all that most people read of the bible is found in their reading of your life what does that mean?  Some of the stories that we are writing for others to read needs to have revision; and in some cases rewriting.

In my own parable I can easily start "When I was a child I thought and acted like a child but when I became a man I put away childish things"  For the great majority of us that is a very base place to begin, but what point are we each on within that process of growing up?  It comes to our being honest within ourselves about who we are in that story right now...are we still playing the role of a child within the church?  Do we constantly feel the need to be fed, or have our diapers changed by the church around us?  Have we ever thought about the time when we could be grown up enough to take a responsibility within the body that everyone around us can trust us with?  This way of thinking is the beginning of writing the parable that all will be able to read effectively.  Let me say something else about this parable of our lives....we are all writing it no matter if we want to or not.  This world is reading freely the things that you put down every day for them to see, and it can take a positive turn or a negative turn depending on your attitude in writing it that day.  That is why it is so important to get ever closer to God so that our mind and heart might become transformed so that we can write that parable correctly without having a negative ending.  We are creating a very precious love story between God and us.  God is freeing our heart to love again like we did when we were small children, and that is what our re-birth in Christ is really all about.  Our salvation is actually from the bondage of this world, and our transformed heart has a brand new perspective of this life.  This release of innocence of the small child within us to love and to trust again is the nature of our re-birth.  It is a kind of re-sitting of our nature as it was created to be.

If you think about it we were created to be a certain way before we were born into this life...we have had our innocence stripped away from us as we grow in this enlivenment and we have been held captive here in our physical bodies. This condition we endure is the only one that has a time frame on it, and we are given many decision to make while we are here.  In spite of what this world says I don't believe this life is about control or power, and it isn't about winning or loosing.  I don't believe that this life is even about happiness or safety, or desire or wants or any kind of creature comforts we may seek here; but it is about the decision we make about who we are as a spiritual being.  We all have gotten that equal opportunity to choose, and have that determination of purpose within our lives.  It is just that for most people that real purpose is miss-understood.  I hope that we can all get the idea that we are writing our lives out for others even right this moment, and that we have the chance to make it into something that God can be proud of.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
