WHO DOES GOD REALLY LISTEN TO?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

We have been told throughout most; if not all of our Christian lives, that God always listens to and will forgive anyone who comes to Him, but as I study God's word there always seem to be conditions attached to the open arms policy that God offers to us.

Things seem to have conditions which we gladly tend to skip over when it comes to our relationship with God and the forgiveness of sins we all want.  The conditions I speak of deals with the condition of our heart and the intent behind what we pray for.  What God is really looking for from us is true feelings, and the longer we dwell on this earth the more difficult it is becoming to find any truth in words or intention.  God's complete intent is to find the purest love He can from us, and that can only be developed through an intense refining process.  In many ways, God's love for us is like the refining fire to pure gold and precious metals.  The purest parts of the most precious of love that we have within us are brought to the surface only when all of the impurities are burnt off.

The more that I deal with this fact in my own life the more I also realize how far away from actually understanding why God needs us to go through this kind of refining process. God's Kingdom is perfect, and He will not let anything into His Kingdom that is not perfected.  Having said that there is no doubt why God puts us through what He does in proving our love for Him.

This is a much bigger problem than we are letting on that it is within the churches today, and our need to resolve the issue about truthful intent when we come to God in prayer is a matter that is hurting many in Christ who really want to know God better.  We have been quietly teaching people to pray with a grocery list of things in hand that we feel we need without any consideration for the relationship that we so desperately need to build with God through Christ.  We have found that this world will no longer accept what we have to say about God at face value without any proof of it being a part of our own lives, so what makes us think that God will take our word for loving Him any more than the world will?  We tend to treat God in the same way that we treat people around us by thinking that somehow we can out think God or fool Him in the ways we do so many others, but God is not put together that way; He sees and knows everything we do and think.

God's main goal in building a relationship with us is to find those from among mankind who will be honest and stay true to their word.  It does not mean that we become robotic in that we agree with everything He says because He already has that in His servant angels.  God is looking for an honest relationship where He can walk and talk with us as a family.  I think we are missing that point so many times in our worship sessions and in our time of prayer with God.  I even have gotten to the point where I will talk with Him about scriptures as I read to try to get the Spirit to teach me more than is just on the page in front of me.  God listens to us when our heart is right, and when we can be honest about our feelings to Him.  There is such a need today for us to be able to just run into the arms of God without question and be free from all of the games that we play with one another in this world.  I believe God listens to those of us who have gotten so sick and tired of these games and restrictions that this world has placed on us that we just want to be held in His arms again.  It starts with honesty in what we say to Him, and also honesty in the love we receive from Him as well.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
