RECOGNIZING EVIL WHEN YOU SEE IT
I send greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
It is He alone who remains Holy and blameless Praise be to His name forever more! I am continuing to discuss the evil that surrounds us today in the form of Demons and Angels who have fallen from the grace and mercy of God. I can't help but have my attention drawn to the influence that many people today are under with regard to the political thought processes that are being pushed by an unseen force. We often get sidetracked by thinking that evil is coming at us from a source that we can easily recognize, but in too many instances we never see those traps that are being set for us through the influence of those around us who in turn are influenced by the powers and principalities of these demons and angels. Now I don't mean to indicate that these people are possessed in any way, but they are many times influenced to feel or think certain ways that are contrary to the will of God. Many times we too get caught up in the heat of the moment and allow things to send us off of God's pathway for our lives.
This influence does not have to be long-lived to be effective for the enemy of God to plant seeds of thought that we don't mean to plant if we are influencing someone else. It can be as simple as a word or an action taken out of character for a child of God which can influence someone who is seeking for answers perhaps from our lives. These demonic influences don't ever come at us through direct command, but rather through suggestion or example that is given to us. That is why we are never prepared to always fight against them.

Most of the time these influences will come to us in the most none threatening ways. They may come in the guise of love reportedly shown to someone in great need, and yet it becomes a method of draining your resources and energy for the work that God would have you do. It can come in the latest hot teachings by a new minister who has the attention of a crowd and is creating a movement but ends up only taking you a degree or two off of the course that Christ would have you to travel.
We so desperately need to adopt a method of always being able to check these things against what we know is a truth that never changes; that truth is God's word. We don't have to be great scholars to do that, but rather we need to read the word for ourselves and allow God's Holy Spirit access to our hearts so that He can teach us the way. There are many of us who sit in various class situations during a week to be taught and to discuss the word of God, and while we may take an idea from someone who seems right or from a book written that gives good detail into a subject of interest we have to be careful to always compare the things we see and hear in life to the actual words of Christ. While it is unlikely that our friends and acquaintances will be possessed by these angry and evil spirits they most certainly will be oppressed by them just as we will. 2 Thessalonians 3: even warns us about staying away from those who become idle in the Lods work, and who is not living according to the faith. We must always be on the lookout for these attacks from every direction because the enemy does not play a fair game of war. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
