THE DEATH OF OUR WILL
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
We have been struggling through the various thoughts of being created in the image of God, and just what that might mean? We have written about the real purpose of our life here, and the decision that we need to make about our own relationship with God through His Spirit living in us. We have even spoken about the duty that we have to God of making a sacrifice of our daily living life to God as being a reasonable sacrifice given the sacrifice that He has made for us of Jesus on the cross for our sins.
The one element that we have not yet dealt with is that which God has refused to touch without our cooperation; which is our own will to be turned over to Him in a complete manner where He can begin to mold us into a new creature. Today I want to ask you some questions about your personal transformation, and I want for you to be very conscious of your personal decisions to give your will over to God right now allowing Him to actually transform you into a new creature now while you still live this life.
There are many of us who feel they have given themselves over to God as Lord for a future life, but are perhaps not thinking of this life and this very sacrifice we are actually called upon to make each and every day we live from this day forward. You see friends if we were doing that each and every day we would be able to say " I can remember the day when I began to make a daily sacrifice of my will to God" because of a knowledge we would have of when our life actually started to change on the inside. It isn't until we have gotten serious enough with God to allow Him to take the control that is necessary to change us in a way that it affects the relationships we have with this world that we truly start to become transformed.
I don't believe that most of us as Christians understand the necessity of transformation or giving our complete will over to the leading of God's Spirit as being that important. We hear constantly the words " they will know we are Christians by our love" and yet when it comes down to really loving one another even with God's love we fail. It isn't because we are ONLY HUMAN, but because we do not give ourselves completely to God. I don't want people around me to not feel they have not been told about this tremendous need to be transformed by the renewing of their mind and heart. Our WILL often stands in the way of that transformation of who we are in Christ Jesus. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
