RECOGNIZING DEMONS FOR WHO THEY ARE

  Greetings in the name of Jesus:



 I want to continue with this discussion about demons and the full concept of evil angels and demons that are surrounding us at all times.  I want to give you a full view of the enemy that we deal with, but I want for you to remember at the same time that the Angels that serve and our Lord Himself are much greater than any enemy we may face.  First of all we know that demons communicate with us all of the time, and among their greatest missions in existence is to hurt people through possession and other means1 Timothy 4:1-2 tells us that in the latter days ( which we are currently living in) there will be many fall away from their faith in God and will be deceived by these spirits.   James 3:14-15 explains that these people will be affected by harboring bitter envy and selfish ambition and will abandon the faith.  There are many who seem to be starting to follow this pathway by being separated from good through ideas that seem good at first but which are leading to the destruction of friendships, relationships and even dividing families.

Many today look at miracles as being done from God alone, but demons can do miracles as well.  We can see cases of magic that just cannot be explained done by people that we can tell are evil at their core.  Revelation 16:13-14  speaks of evil spirits doing miracles and many signs that we might think could only be attributed to God.  These are coming from evil sources.  Demons also know the word of God better than you do because they have lived it.  They know Christ well and can only be truly controlled by the name of Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit.   In fact, when pushed right to it they will themselves testify to Christ being the Lord of Lords like is found in Matthew 8:29  or  Mark 1:23.  We all know about the demon possession because of the things we have seen and heard on T.V., but in real life, it is much worse and scarier than we may think.  There is a spiritual consciousness that we all have that is altered when we are oppressed or possessed that needs to be attended to. Luke 8:38-39 speaks of the man who was possessed by demons and cured by Jesus not ever wanting to leave Christ's side, but Jesus sent him back home to testify as to what Jesus had done for him.

 Demons have a great fear and respect for God because they know the story from the beginning, and they also know the outcome.  We need to realize that if we are to keep an upper hand on this spiritual warfare against these very powerful beings we must, first of all, have a proper attitude toward these demons, and we must keep God foremost in our thoughts. 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 tells us that we cannot dabble in both God and in the things of demons.  We cannot play around in both of these spiritual worlds because it is very dangerous.  I know of many people who have at least tried to work with people who claimed to be demon possessed in some way, and because of their faith in Christ, they have felt it to be their duty to try to cast these things out.  There a fair warning given by Jesus to those who deal with such things, and that is the danger of an empty soul.  Matthew 12:43-45 speaks of this in greater detail so if you by chance find yourself face to face with something like that make sure that they are filled with the power of God's Spirit before they are sent their way.  These spirits of evil may try to reclaim their territory if there is nothing inside.  I want to continue on in the next blog with information about Other supernatural beings that we come across as well.  The enemy influences so much more than we may realize.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
