IT ISN'T ME , BUT CHRIST WITHIN ME THAT LIVES

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Who lives your life?  I have been writing a lot about angels lately, but the bottom line is that they cannot make life-changing decisions for you, only you can do that.  We tend to react to our Christian lives much the same way that we react to the world around us.  Most people have a lot to say about their beliefs, at least privately, but not much goes on in the area of taking positive steps to change anything about that life.  Recently I visited a Newcomers class at a church where the discussion about our creation in the image of God was brought up.  I kept my own mouth closed as I just sat and listened to the discussion and answers given, and I realized that we were only getting a part of the message that Jesus came to deliver right.  We still don't understand the Trinity, or really understand our creation at all; at least not in a way that makes sense to people.

In some way, we still have to get that message clearly out to people that while we are concerned about our bodies because we are stuck in them; God is not concerned about something that is to be cast away after a temporary life, but He is returning for our spirit/soul and the life that He has for us to begin to live for eternity.  I have had the privilege of discussing this at some length with men from all over the community and people have very different takes on the Spirit and the soul.  People tend to get the mind and the soul mixed up.  They most certainly do not really understand the transition that we are supposed to make when Christ begins to dwell within us.  We can talk until we are blue in the face about Christ dwelling within us, but there are not that many people who have allowed God to make a life-changing experience within them.  They have never found a reason to die to self or seek after God with their whole heart, and because of that the old flesh has still survived; it is still waiting and fighting for control over who we are each and every day.  I believe this speaks a great deal to the behavior we see in our churches.  It tells me a great deal about why the concepts that God has given us of being of one mind and heart is so difficult; It is because of who and what is living our life.

When I really look at Romans 12:1-5 I see the actual concept of what Christ was trying to teach us was to exchange who we are for who we were created to be 1. Presenting our bodies as a living Sacrifice that is Holy and acceptable to Him which is our reasonable service. 2. Not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  This begs to be asked...who is living your life right now?  There is no room for self and for God at the same time because God did not come to you to rent a room, He came to rule your heart.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
