ENCOUNTERS WITH ANGELS
Greetings in the name of Jesus
Too much of the time we think of angels only as messengers, and not in any other capacity, but they have been created with many forms and qualities that we need to consider. As messengers, they have the ability to speak through other parts of creation...even donkey's as we find in
Numbers 22:23-28. Angels can be very commanding in their presence and alluring in their appearance. Since they are spiritual beings they can come at us from anonymous sources. They can also have an association with Satan like we see in Job 1:25-2:1.
There are also guardian Angels like it speaks of in Psalms 91:9-12 and Exodus 33:20. Angels were also created to be instruments of justice and judgment Matthew 13: 41-42. Many of the encounters that we think we have with God are really with these angels that have been sent by God with direct messages to us. Many times we are unaware we may be encountering angels Hebrews 13:2 but when it comes down to the final encounters we know that God's angels which are mighty and many will oppose Satan and be victorious Revelations 20:1-3
Most of us don't know anymore what Angels really are like than we know what God is really like, and we try so hard to put them into a form we can understand but their created power is beyond our ability to comprehend. We were created just a little lower than the angels according to the word, and yet it is said that they are amazed at our ability to withstand such pressure and temptation from the presence of evil all around us. The spiritual world is in constant conflict and war over us and we are blissfully unaware of anything at all going on around us until the time when we shall come face to face with that realm and with that conflict. I wonder if we will be met with harps and flowers or with the real conflict between good and evil that rages? Will we be prepared if we are met with the battle to fight alongside our Heavenly brothers? What is the last part of our commitment to be like while the rest of God's plan of salvation is being played out?
These like many others questions bounce around in my mind at times when I think of the tremendous changes we will face in the spiritual realm.
I so desperately want for us to be prepared for what we will be called on to do for God as we will obviously have a great purpose still in His plan and in His work with those who remain behind us. Paul has said " Now we see through a glass dimly, but then we shall be face to face; we shall know as we are known" I know our work does not stop after we die because we all have a purpose and work to do. Today and right this moment is our chance to get ready for whatever that purpose is. Don't miss your chance to get ready for what God has for you. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
