WHO AND WHAT ARE YOU CLINGING TO IN LIFE?
Greetings in Jesus:
We are so easily caught up in the rules and regulations of this world that we forget that this place and time are only a very temporary view of life that is to still come for us. It is very popular today for those who preach the Good News of Christ to relate our relationship with God in terms of life or death, but I don't think we understand that there is no death for us; there is only life with God's favor and presence or life without God's favor presence or protection.
Today; in fact right this moment we are experiencing God mercy and favor as He shines His blessings on all of His creation. He blesses the good and the bad for He is no respecter of persons.
The day will come when He begins to withdraw His blessings from this place, and from this creation, and when that happens we will begin to experience life without His strength to hold back evil from this world we live in now. There will be a purpose for this action as well; it will serve as a way to begin to weed out those who have deceived God's elect, and His true church. Just as it was in the beginning of the church there will be a purifying from within and a purifying from without of those who claim Jesus as Lord of their lives. I don't believe that we understand yet that God's Kingdom will remain pure and perfect, and that nothing which is impure will enter into that Kingdom. We must be transformed by the renewing of our mind and heart before we will enter into His Kingdom, but if we do not enter into His Kingdom it does not mean we will die from a consciousness or an understanding of what is going on...we will continue to live, but life will be much different than we thought it would be without God's mercy.
If we can understand that we will still be able to feel and have emotions like we do right now, but they will no longer be comforted by God's mercy or the kindness that God demonstrates through His presence in those around us. What will it be like to be able to suffer pain without death as a relief? There remains only the torture of enduring that pain without healing the wounds that are caused by the evil of this world. I cannot help but think about what this world would be like if all of the evil that is in men and their imaginations could come into this reality. I don't mean just in the dreams of those who make movies, but what could happen if there were no laws to prevent men from creating the real life monsters in our greatest nightmares? What would it be like to live in the fear of being caught and tortured by someone who loved to watch you in pain? Remember there is no death just life without God's presence...
I know that I come back to this point a lot in my writings and yet it is important for us to be reminded of what Jesus Christ has done already for us so that we could even have access to the Father. We often forget God's daily presence in our lives today, but that will not be forever if we do not respond to that mercy and grace while we still can. Have you found that God's love has been truthful for your life or have you taken for granted that His mercy and love are a part of life? Remember He has told you to not be deceived? Who's promises are you hitching your star to today? What hope are you clinging to?
