THE CHURCH THROUGH GOD'S EYES

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

There is a great deal of difference in the ways God views His Church and the ways that we view the church.  Although we may have a good deal of knowledge about what Jesus has said about the individual Christian life much is not clearly stated about the church family.

When we actually think about how the teachings of Jesus affect the ministry of the church we should be able to see how the individual actions were taken by one person should affect the behavior of those around them, and yet we somehow overlook the truth about how our lives individually should not only affect changes in one another, but how those effects should also change a community, a city, or even a nation.  Most of us already have an idea of how we should go about our personal daily lives when dealing with others by being a witness as to what and how God has changed our lives personally but when it comes to the witness of our church in a community.  For some reason, we tend to box ourselves off from other communities of people even though on the outside we say that we agree with them and we can even go as far as fellowshipping with them to a degree, we are still unable to let them into our inner circle as a brother or sister.  In a huge way, we need to address this mental and emotional tie-up of who we have become as a church body over time.

God does not see us as individual bodies of believers in the ways we do.  God sees His church as being one body with many different parts which are spread all over this world.  His ideas of our duty as a church have also been greatly diminished by the ways we have shut one another out from group to group and closed off the truth from the teachings of good leadership and the teachings of the foundations of what our faith should be in Christ.  In many ways, we are reverting right back to the attitudes of the Scribes and Pharisees of Jesus time that He called out for being hypocrites. Our own roads and travels within the church body have also proved this hypocrisy to be true today as we actually seek ways to separate ourselves from other churches in a kind of turf war as we accuse one another of stealing sheep.

I believe God's view of His church is quite different, and I don't believe that He has been distracted by the claims of men who otherwise would cause dissension among Christians who are supposed to believe the same thing.  In truth, the church is one worldwide body of believers who should not only be fellowshipping with one another but also working as one to spread the Good News and message of Christ to this world.  The individual churches within separate towns should be of one mind in this and be able to work together as they did at the time of the Apostles where they shared the lead through God's Spirit.  When we begin to install the concepts of creed and doctrine that divide us from one another we begin to add or delete from the word of Christ which is wrong and it aids the enemy.

Instead of choices being made by a group lead to make good business decisions we need a group led by the power of God's Spirit and an example of true  witness  to this world of what the principals of God's message looks like when lived out among His people. I want to continue in finishing out these thoughts in tomorrows blog. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
