EATING A BALANCED SPIRITUAL MEAL
Love and peace to you in the name of Jesus:
For what feels like a lifetime; and perhaps for some of you it has been a life time now, I have been sharing the word of God by asking you questions that may never come up within the restraints of your church. These questions raised are meant to instill conversation among the people of God about true principals of belief in the foundations of God's word to us.
The fact that we are not subject to simply believing everything that is taught because it comes from a source that is supose to be trusted for the truth is sometimes questioned. The real reason for it is to take those things that we are taught and compare what we have been given for ourselves against what we know to be true from the teachings of Christ. Most of the time if there are differences they can be explained in a clearer way, but it also helps us catch those things that are misleading if they are taken in for spiritual food at face value.
In everything we do it must be done with a balance saught to keep us aware of the truth that is always present. God writes to us in a way that will allow us to uncover the deception of the enemy no matter how subtle it may be. I am reminded today that in reading God's word the intent of our heart while we do it is important. Some may read the word of God like they would any other book, and then check off the fact they did a good thing without it having any effect on their lives. The word of God needs to be alive to us because of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. It becomes like a love letter from God to our hearts. It is God's way of speaking directly to us, and one of many ways we have of becoming one with Him. There may be things said to us that we need to take the time to meditate on as God is seeping deep into our heart, but as we still our heart and listen for His voice the truth will always win the day. Prayer is always the next step in seeking a well balanced spiritual meal. It is asking God to reveal the truth to us that prompts us to ask the right questions when a half truth is thrown out to us in deceit.
We read and we study God's word in context to what is being spoken of in the word, and not as a tool of proof to support a man inspired teaching. Always keep in mind that God never does anything without a reason. The miracles that Jesus performed always had a reason behind them even if we could not understand it. The modern-day miracles from God still always have a purpose which never has anything to do with Glorifying men. It opens door for those who see it done to believe that God is in their presence, and still is there to hear their cries. God continues to call us to be drawn closer to Him in so many ways. We should allow His Spirit to feed us and strengthen our hearts to believe that God has sent us His only Begotten Son to establish the truth. Now let us live out that truth, may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
