THE PURPOSE OF HIS SACRIFICE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
There has never been a time in my life that I have not been haunted by the tremendous love that God has shown us through the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross of Calvary. When ever I think about that sacrifice I realize that when it comes down to any kind of real love on my part the only thing that I can do is to offer every part of who it is that I am, and then beg for mercy and forgiveness on His part for the rest.
Most of the time we miss the whole purpose for what Jesus did for us any way. His sacrifice is so that we might once again have some kind of access to God. As a creation we had already proven to God that we were untrustworthy. The only thing that God did not know for certain was if that trust issue was coming from us or if it was because of the enemies deceit in getting us to sin just like he did with the angels that he had turned against God. You see it is that last hope on God's part for us as His creation that He would do what He did to forgive us for the sin that we committed as a creation , but hold us to the commitment that we make individually.
I believe that God's amazing grace is so powerful as to forgive even the greatest of sin, and yet we must come to Him and ask for that forgiveness with a humble and contrite heart. I believe that is very hard for most of us to do even though we know that we have been wrong. The basic drive that most people have is in feeling that they are on the right side of any issue, but we almost always rebel from God's complete solvent word because of self will. While self will is the only way toward God receiving the kind of pure love that He so desires from us, it is also the element that is at the root of Lucifer's rebellion and our desire for control.
The answer that we may give to Good is to simply eliminate self will altogether and have a complete citizenship of drone like servants as He does with the compliance of His angels, and yet we would never achieve the status of children without self will and choice to obey God out of our love for Him.
The thought of creating companionship with His creation has been so costly to the Father and yet He demands perfection in Spirit and in our commitment to Him. We cannot love completely until we can love and give to God in the same ways that He has loved and given to us. The bending of our self will to God's desires for us is the only way of achieving that goal. We need to continue to pray for one another in this area because we are always subject to our self will being derailed from our goals of pure love. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
