A LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
For a great many people the confession of our lives for Christ is a Life and Death situation. For many of us within the safety of America we have not discovered the truth of what that kind of commitment means as yet; for we have never "contended unto blood" as Paul would have said.
We never-the-less are in a life and death struggle between the powers and principalities in heavenly places for the possession of our soul. It will be given either to God or to our evil nature as men; and it will be given out of our own personal choices made.
There are many today who walk through life unaware of the consequences that Ly only a breath away because of our refusal to been our will to serve God. I don't speak about those who don't believe at all. we already know their fate is sealed without turning to Christ. I am speaking about the majority of those who have convinced themselves of a false security in simply admitting to themselves that God is real, and yet never taking any further steps in their lives to develop a personal relationship with Him. There are so many who have bought into the routine of church as a once a week attendance of a one to one and a half hour service of lip service to God. It isn't that it aa bad thing to do , but it should be a simple bi-product of a complete relationship with Jesus, and it is my fear that so many do not have that in their lives.
It is my belief that even though we cannot know the heart of another person when it comes to their belief in God we can still observe the results of that relationship in ones life. As I said the fruit of God's Spirit is a bi-product of the relationship and the working of God's Holy Spirit in our lives, and if we cannot see Him at work in and through someones life we are called on to discern what kind of spirit IS at work in their life. God works through many people in a very subtle way because of the spirit He has created within them. Some have a spirit of service to others, and a loving and kind heart as a result of their relationship with God. Others have a very outward display of evangelism that cannot be subdued in their lives. Their concern of the lives of others cannot be hidden in life, and they know all too well the effect of this Life or Death situation in the lives of those around them.
The drawing I did for today is simply a reminder to us that this situation exsits for all of us even if we have made a claim to know Jesus as Lord. Do you have a relationship with God or are you simply playing along with the crowd you have around you? Check your life to see if there have been changes within you. Do not let this creep up on you and catch you unaware because itis appointed unto all men to die once, and then comes the judgment. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
