LETTING GOD MAKE FISHERS OF MEN His way
Greetings in the name of Jesus:

When Jesus said " COME FOLLOW ME AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN" did He include all of us?
The answer to that is of course YES! It is actually much more than just a simple yes, but it should be a life changing yes for all who really take Christ seriously. Right after Jesus chose the 12 men that He would begin to mentor and eventually who would become Apostles He began to instruct them on what to do in approaching God's take on living out a life that would please God and bear spiritual fruit. Jesus shows all of us the way to connect with God's Holy Spirit through a daily contact with Him through prayer. That does not include only a list of what we need or think that we want from God , but it also includes earnest conversation and meditation on His word to us.
We need to consult Christ through prayer on each step that we take in a day because He may have a person or a situation for us...what I like to call "A Divine appointment" that can only be handled through God's power at work in us. Jesus has already done all of the work of figuring out what the next steps should be in our lives to stay close to the Father, but it is our job to implement those instructions. If we can look at our lives as being tools that are used for God's Glory rather than as individuals with wills that need to be coaxed to do a work I believe we would see a much greater outpouring of God's Spirit at work among the churches.
God is asking us to change our life style to include Him in it everyday. At first I am sure that does not sound very drastic even though as time goes by we will find that God's Spirit will begin to lead us into closer and closer relationship with the Father through things like prayer. It is amazing to me how just the simple act of having devotion time with my wife each morning changes my day as well as hers. If we fail to do that it isn't long before we start to feel the effects of it...it is much like working out effects your general health and attitude about life. Our energy needs to be spent on finding God and staying close to Him in this age; believe me this life is not going to get easier or better for any of us as time marches on. We all know the things that we need to do to make this relationship with Christ happen for our lives; it is just a matter of willing ourselves to take action on it. It is my prayer that each one of you will begin to seek out those excuses in life that has been stopping you from having that kind of close relationship with Chriist that you have always said that you wanted, and begin to make even the smllest move toward the love that you know that God has shown for you.
This is the first step to becoming what God has intended for you to be ..."Fishers of men". Has God been asking you for a greater commitment to Him lately? I know that He has! It may be a very small thing at first or perhaps something larger than you think you can handle and yet He will always be with you through each step. I am only a whisper away too if you need to talk as a brother in Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
